They are sold. BR>They are replaced before any big problems arrize so they really are not in that bad of shape.
The old 250R's that sold for 14k are being sold for whatever they can get out of them. Usually 5-7k.

I guess if I was in the market, I'd go to a race where the machines owner was attending. Then I'd just ask around. Your location makes that posible.
Maybe a website, some pro's have them.
Amatures are selling also. My daughter just sold her practice LSR/CRF for alot less than I expected. Her race bike is for sale also (LSR/CRF). I'd die for one of her machines!

Actually, Ivan Tedesco has his championship winning KXF250 in his condo.hr>
I think thats what I am going to do with my KDX here in the near future. I already have a kawasaki green room, kick daughter out, now the KDX just needs to be moved in as the art object. KDX will be much cheaper than the daughter, so art is good.

Not sure about the first error code and I haven't had that happen to myself in quite some time. The second means a thread was tossed in the trash can.

Besides what was already mentioned, some go on display in museam's or even the headquarter's for some manufacturers. Some probably get tore down for testing to. But I'd say most of them just gets sold.

ctracing.com has old race four wheelers for sale on there web site but there not cheap

If you browse the for sale sections on atvriders or quadzone you will find a lot of these quads for sale. Actually it is the season and there have been many for sale for the past several weeks.
For example, many of the pro's at the Ironman GNCC had there quads sold to people who were picking them up after the race, not even cleaned up.
Just yesterday (2 weeks after Ironman) I had the pleasure of passing GNCC PRO #11 Michael Houston's quad that he sold to a C Class GNCC rider on the track. Felt good on my stock Predator to pass that quad. Also, GNCC PRO #18 Johnny Gallagher's race quad from '05 was in this same race.
Most of these quads end up in the hands of a lower class rider looking to pick up a fast quad.
I also read that one of Natalie's race quads was sold to someone who races a lower class.
I don't think the quads are beat up that bad. Those guys maintain better than anyone. Thats' why they are PRO's.

I was just sitting here and got to thinking. What happens to all the quads after they are raced and the pros have beat the crap out of them? They dont use the same quad for long. After they are raced what happens to them? Do they just keep them and add them to a collection? Or are they sold somewhere, somehow? What about all the old quads that were once raced. All the old 250R's? Gone? Just was kinda curious. I wonder if anyone knows...

Really! I was wondering if that was possible. Thats interesting. I bet their not cheap! I guess they could part out the quads but it seems like the value would go down a whole lot... I wonder if, or where you could get those parts...
Yeah, skateboarders keep their boards but thats a lot more simple than a quad and a lot less expensive.

what the.... you mean like the one in your photo page?
ctracing.com actually has a raptor for sale with only 2 hours on it and tons of mods too for about 7k. Not bad. Says it was used for a magazine test. I also found some laeger +2 A arms for $500. Thats not too bad either.

Hey, I figured while a moderator was here this could be a good question to ask.
Just a second ago I tried to open this thread from a link in an email and this poped up.
The page you were accessing requires a numeric value, you passed a string.
Error Code: 101
What does that mean? And what do some of the other error codes mean? Like 102. Ive tried to open a couple threads and that happened. Does error code 102 mean there has been a violating post or something?

so where else are they sold? Are they only sold to people with inside hook ups or what?

Thats what I think. I'm sure their prices are decent for what you get. I know the pros ride the crap out of their racequads but its only one race and I would assume that most of the time they are still in pretty good condition. And yeah, they do.... or their team does maintain their quads. How many races does a pro racers quad see though? I'm guessing it matters on factory sponsorship... Say Doug Gust for example, he has factory support by Suzuki. Does anyone know if he (or other factory backed PROs) runs a newly build quad every race?

Blee, I love that 250R. That thing looks sweet. About how much was it?
Posted by: strongtyerYFZ
Wow. So when you bought it was it not put together completely? Or was it together plus a bunch of extra parts? Sounds like a pretty good deal to me. 5k isnt that bad for a 250R that looks like that!!!
Snows coming, yes. Well maybe where you live. Not much snow here actually. Ice racing????

my best guess would be that they strip down the quad into parts and sell all of the ones that are still in good condition or usable. and if the pro is attached to the quad, they probably keep it in their garage are a memorobelia or w.e u kall it. just like skaters do with skateboards... they keep the ones that are special to them and sell the ones they dont need anymore. i guess thats wat happens, but we may never kno. ill tell u once i become a pro rider, haha, jp.
