Acadiana speed way every other sunday !/8 mile drags stop the shiznitt and hit the shift . go for the time and lights or come around the corner to my house and we can run a real friggen strip 3/4 mile or better i can even go out and run my truck and mark it . i got plenty of digital film and video camera . people who would love to sit around and watch . hell make it a party bring meat and beer we'll cook and friggen race all day .

what's the entry fee over at state capitol ? i've never ran a street strip mostly dirt and sand drags ! I'd love to get togther and blast the street . Seriously i have a good area nice and long a bunch of friends and i race there hang out and BB-q ride around and shoot the chit .
Hey it's all fun and games beat get beat so what some people take it to heart that they spend a ton of money on a machine and cant ride it like they hope it is the shiznit and cant understand . I have been beat and will again it aint nothing but a thing . hope to get up there and / over there should i say and hang out one evenning . lets talk and make a date .............25 next friday i'll check my work schedule and sounds like a date for drags . I also have to check with the wife ........

we had the place to our selves last sunday every body though it would rain shoot we ran all over there with out a hitch jumping and just screwing off . I would like to get to the track with some one soon it sucks going alone .but i think i'd rather be out there with little or no crowd .

I got beat by a guy that had a bottle strapped to the frame. At the end of the race he stopped, pulled the bottle off, and got a big drink. That dude must have been thirsty after peddling that Huffy THAT fast!

Shaunonl1, lowering the Predator allows the rear wheels to spin without the front end jumping strait up on you. You can take all the preload off the front springs and strap the rear suspension down, and get awsome holeshots, my Predator bone stock ran 9.22 @ 70 mph. Pure stock the Banshee cant hang, but once the mods start the Banshee will take over.

Well guys from what I have seen here at our local river where we ride on the weekend, the new raptors have been the fastest one with 5 valves. Then the new Kawasaki 400, then the z400, and final the predatorL. They drag race here every weekend. And all these bikes are stock except some do have a pipe.

You can have a lot more fun on these Forums if you confront an oppinion that you disagree with by using your intellegence instead of name calling.
If you are already using all of the intellegence that you have at your disposal, then you might want to take up knitting instead.

Hey 2004ds650, You do understand the difference between a 2 wheel Motorcycle and a 4 wheel ATV, Right?
That's right, 2 wheels!!! Now on with the lesson.
First off, you are comparing Apples and Oranges. Now before you head to the refridgerator to compare the two, what I mean is that they are 2 completely different vehicles (Motorcycles & ATV's). The motor in a quad, has to have more TORQUE than a Motorcycle, because it not only has more weight, but due to the 4 wheels, and the overall size, it has more resistence (Rolling Mass). When you tune a motor to give it more Torque, it tends to suffer in the HP department (Read on to find out why you can't just have both).
A motorcycle, because of it lower resistence (Only 2 wheels) and less rotating mass, doesn't require as much Torque, and therefore can rely on HP to get the job done.
As with any motorized vehicle, you can do all kinds of things to increase both Torque and HP. At some point however, (Here is the part about not having both) you get to the point where Reliability and Safety becomes an issue. The Manufacturers need to build Reliable, SAFE machines to sell to the public. The Aftermarket Companies then take over giving you the option of increasing the performance of your quad. How far you take it is up to you.
Now be sure and study the information I have given you, there May be a Test, and go ahead and eat both the Apple and the Orange, fruit is good for you.

OK, fair enough. Lets go with your idea. What would you say would be a good performance quad, power wise/top speed?
How much HP is too much? 50 RWHP, 60 RWHP, you tell me?
Is 80mph fast enough? How about 90mph? Heck while we are at it, let's just make it an even 100mph.
Now, who is going to buy/ride such a quad? Should a Novice or Beginner be able to go out and purchase this quad? Or should the Manufacturers/Government put limitations on WHO can purchase a quad with those kind of numbers? Do we really want them more involved than they already are? Because that is what would happen.
We have been down this road before you and I. What happens when the first person who doesn't have the skills it takes to ride such a quad, is Injured for life or is Killed on a 100hp/100mph quad. Who is going to pay?

You speak in all of your post about how everyone is "Stupid", and "they just don't get it". You need to take a long hard look at your line of thinking and see if you can't figure this one out on your own.
If you want a 100hp/100mph quad, the aftermarket industry would be more than happy to relieve you of some of you hard earned money, but you can't expect Yamaha to put their Company on the line, just because YOU don't think that a 660 Raptor is Fast enough.

Its true. Yamaha owners have mullets. All the bashee guys sit at the hill waiting for slower bikes to race up, so they can pass you and cut right in front of you to make sure you saw the mullett flowing in the wind, and to give you a face full of sand. ( since I race them up and down, I get to roost them worse going 90-100mph down the hill, and they don't wear helmets, you gotta be able to show off your mullett)
Raptor = 4 stroke Bashee = Fast motor, crappy suspension, most set up for hill shooting, and both have mulletts on top.
Banshees and Raptors might be fast up the hill, but I'll race anyone up and down the hill on my 440ex, or my wives Z400, and I'll win, because your suspension sucks.

Most important thing=I must check with my wife........I feel you on that one..,but back to the bikes....I enjoyed the track it was in great shape, on the other hand I was not and I knew it the next day. Thanks for the information on the shocks that will help out for this weekend because last weekend we were on a track this weekend it will be sand drags. I had planned on going to Lil Sahara but that changed so looks like the poor old LA DUNES for Easter weekend

hey honda125fourtrax or w/e ur crappy quad name is, whered u see the predator beating the raptor in the march issue? i read the raptor won in a drag race. i mean after all its on the FU*** cover. and the reason the banshee wasnt able to beat the big four strokes in atv sport is because they were in LOOSE conditions (am i the only one that read these articles ) but if u look in that same issue with the limited banshee and raptor the banshee was faster in those conditions

may i say this again. 660cc should have more than 38 hp and not get beat by a 125cc dirt bike. yes they have a lil less hp than a raptor, but weigh less. but if it had the power of a 650cc dirt bike it would have "true" 650 class power. they throw detuned motors in quads and u have to buy sh** for them to have the power they shoulda had stock. i mean look. a 250 dirt bike has about 45 hp. a banshee has 40. its a 350 TWIN. come on. yes down the road when u modify them the the banshee will have the most hp, but u shouldnt have to pay for it. these big bore quads are all HYPE sorry. i owned a raptor, and i was NOT IMPRESSED. ok its fast, but not as fast as it should be. ur paying for the numbers on the tank. o yeah my friend is always bringing his raptor to be fixed to me dad

i think they can save there butts by some how explaining to these ppl that if u wanty a quad to putter, buy a 300ex. for the rest of us, we want our quads to run like what it says on the tank. i mean they make ktm 525s, xr650s, and kx500s. they never got rid of them. and why? idk maybe ppl are smart enough to know what they can handle these days. im not looking to sound like a tough guy or a know it all. i just think if they want to, they could.

I have had my PREDATOR for less than a month and so far I smoked a stock raptor .I left him so bad the first three times that i spotted him about 5 bike lengths caught him and left him another 6 to 8 bike lengths. I also went drag racing and I ran 9.75 @ 68mph in the eighth mi. There was a stock kawi 700 there with a WEELIE BAR that ran 9.62 @63mph . So I adjusted my STOCK SHOCKS on my STOCK PREDATOR and smoked the 700 kawi. As for a banshee I smoked a modified one in the dirt and held him off to about 60mph on the road when my STOCK PREDATOR was still high. So I am much more than sure a stock banshee won't have a chance! By the way I am six foot tall and 225 lbs and I FEEL THERE IS NO STOCK ATV THAT CAN BEAT THE PREDAOR IN THE 1/8 OR 1/4 MI. So if there is anyone in south La. with a stock banshee or any other atv " JUST BRING IT!"

mxrookie & shaunon I never had the pleasure of dragging a bone STOCK shee or a bone STOCK dale . So if your up to the drive I'll be at STATE CAPITAL DRAGWAY on friday april 25th . Maybe we'll get lucky and the stock kfx 700 with weelie bar will be there. All we would need then is a stock raptor to show up to the STOCK BIG BORE SHOWDOWN
P.S. I WOULD LOVE TO COME RACE YOU MXROOKIE BUT I HAVE LITTLE TIME TO PLAY....... THATS WHY I WOULD LIKE TO HAVE THIS SHOWDOWN FRIDAY.
