I heard a rumor that AMA may be changing the rules for youth ATV classes. I heard that the changes would allow 14-15 year olds to race in a 200cc air cooled class or something like that. Does anyone know exactly what the reccomended changes where?

I sent an email to AMA and they responded that there where some reccomended changes but they have not been officially approved yet. I didn't get any details.

My son will be 14 in February and realy wants to race but not on a 90. If I could get some details on the changes, I'd start getting a quad ready for next season.

He doesn't race now, mainly because I don't want to build a modified 90 for him to race. The current age restrictions are rediculous, he is riding a modified Mojave right now and a 90 is way too small and would be dangerous for him.

If they change the rules he will be racing next year in AMA district 13 either on his mojave, or we will build a blaster over the winter.

We should be hearing the results of the congress meeting soon. Not to disappoint you,but they have tried to lower the age before, the lawyers keep shutting the door on it.
Do you plan on local ama racing or GNC? Does your boy race now?
