I am/was kicking around the idea of buying a pit bike, and just wonder what the best would be? I know the XR50 is a legendary pitter, but a friend of mine recently got a KLX110, and it's really sweet. Anyone had any "seat time" on either of these? The KLX MSRP's for about $2000, while a 2003 XR50 goes for $1099. I went through Honda's payment calculator, and with $500 down, my payments would be $25.48 for 2 years!! Not that I wouldn't pay for it all when I bought it, but its just something to kick around.
For those of you that have them, what would you recommend? Is the 50 enough to pull you around?

The only thing you will find wierd about the KLX or XR is they actualy run EVERY day, unlike the R wich needs 5 days rest between runs, BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!
Excuse me, but I just had to do that.
Shaddup ffag. You're right though... Except that one part about 5 days.. more like 25 Dang Honda reliability...
And for any reason you need a mini 4 stroker to out run any thing, just give me a call, we'll make that thing scream
So, 18mm carb, 8.5:1 piston.. and she rocks? Might have to give you a call after the Pro Circuit T4 is added.
D.
02 Cannibal
AC Nerfs
Polished Frame
HMF exhaust w/ moto 440 remapping (soon hopefully)
Ride fast or get passed.
OH, Okay! That explains why you never get in the top 5!!!

Hmm. Sell the R($4500), buy an 01 CR125($3100), then get an 03 XR50R($1099) and use the other $300 to fix the Banshee, then sell it. What do ya think?

I hate to do that.. What if I get a bike, and dont like it? There's no way I could find another R that is as clean as mine, for the amount I could get for the bike.. Aah, I think I'll go steal a friend of mine's 02 CR for the weekend.

you'd have to be a rather large individual to not be pulled by a little XR, we've even rode double on one before (not recommmended heh), but I still like my honda recon for a pitter The XR's are fun to ride wheelies on too

Any of those little bikes will pull you and a couple friends on. The only one to stay away from is the manual clutch ones. The manual clutch bikes like the XR 80 and 100 have a 130 and 150 pound limit. Not that any one cares about the limits, but it trashes the clutch quite easy.
I've had the 50, 70, 80, 100, and 200 XR's and they all are graet. Also had the PW 80 and TTR 90, both were graet also.
You will have no problem with any of these small bikes, none whats so ever.
