i've tried a few different oils in my '91 LT, right now i run maxima super-m at 40:1 with 92 octane pump gas. i've used mobil-1 MX2T, and dumonde tech as well. i liked the MX2T the best. its purpose is to lube the bottom end and keep the powervalve from being sticky without causing too much carbon build-up...all of them have been great so far at that. i've heard good things about redline's 2-stroke oil too.

I run Klotz SuperTechniplate. It's good stuff. Doesn't smoke alot, and does a good job lubing the crank bearings. I recently tore my bottom end down, and the bearings had hardly any wear from 2 years.
I don't think its very good for your bearings to be swapping oils. When you pick one, stick with it. I have(out of desperation) ran Johnson 2 stroke oil from Wal-Mart in my Banshee.
I will be making the switch from SuperTechniplate to Klotz R50 soon.

I've been running Torco gp-7 for about 9 years now and have yet to rebuild a top end!I mix it at 40-1.
A friend of mine is an Amsoil dealer and he gave me some of their series 2000 50-1 oil to try.It smoked like a overfueled freight train and loaded up if I wasn't "on it" constantly.I even re-mixed a batch in case I mixed it wrong. It still smoked so bad I couldn't see my friend 50 feet behind me.
I can lug the bike all day with the torco and not foul a plug or load up.
As far as mixing oils.I'm no expert but I would think it would be ok in an emergency(like to get home).I wouldn't make a habit of it.
(this comes from a guy with 5 different brands of oil in his truck engine right now)

Is there a big difference between the 2-stroke premix oils,Golden spectro, maxima, klotz, and will it hurt to swich oils every one and a while? Thanks. later.
