If you are just interested in the pro's, they will pratice some on Friday and on Sat they will pratice at 12 and 3. Then Sun there 1st moto will at 12 and the 2nd at 3. Don't just come to watch the pro's, stay and watch the rest of the racing in all of the classes. You will see some great racing and meet some great people.
Last year we had about 695 riders, this has to be one of the largerest turnouts for a quad MX around. We started racing at 10 in the morning and had to quit at 7:30 that night and we were not able to finish all of the 1st moto's for all of the classes.
All of the GNC MX races are done during the day. The GNC TT's will do the Pro's on Sat night if they have lights.

Sorry that I forgot that, Aug 17 and 18.
Bring alot of money, but you will have fun and see alot racing.

gaff, just make sure you bring your daughter!!
YoDaddy, they live in southern LA.
I've got my R up and running(ripping actually) so I'll be out and about. Gaff, you would LOVE Swan, Lake Whitney, or FourStates. They're nothing like your Supercross track. Wide open, throttle to the stop. You should come up. We'll definately do some riding.
TQRA this weekend. NTNS saturday night, TQRA sunday morning. FUN/EXPENSIVE weekend.

Stereotypical track. Bikes like it, quads dont. Here, our home town track is owned and operated by the track director of the Texoma Quad Racing Association. He's a really great guy. I asked him once to take out a braking bump in a hard turn, and the next day, it was gone!
gaff, come up and i'll show you what I'm talking about. I'll check the schedule for next weekend.

special, have you been to avvondale lately. I was there yesterday, first time sense christmas. The track has changed alot.
There was a drag race there yesterday aswell as with open practice.
I may make it up to hamond next week.
There is a quad race at avvondale sat the 20tha during the half time of the car races and then a race there the 21st.
Are you running a c-dale again yet or on the EX still?
Posted by: gaff
A speed,cool.
The avvondale track gave me some problems, mainly a new engine and cob webs on the bones.
On the 18th of april I will be on vacation for 3 weeks, other than a race in vanleer, tn on the 28th I may go to the avondale race on the 21st.
We are having a supercross race in the houma civic center on the 28th if your interested.
Let me know were you will be and maybe I can come up and get some track time with you.
Posted by: gaff
Yes avondale has lights, They just put them up.
I hierd about a belle river track, called no problem racing. I believe thats the site also, www.noproblemracing.com
But I'll get a hold of you in about a week and we'll go run some tracks around here. I need some help on those jumps. I have had problems on a couple over there. but no big deal, every one I seen on a quad there sunday was having the same problems.
mxbubs were do you live?
Posted by: gaff
I'm not to sure yodaddy. I've been talking with lonestarbanshee about coming over for a couple days and riding a race or two. But I haven't seen him around for a couple weeks.
I road a supercross track last week, well realy don't want to do that on the lakota to much. Big air on a lakota is tough on the body and quad. I understand those are more mx tracks than supercross tracks wich that would be some fun.
Let me know what races are coming up. I have a race on the 28th in vanleer tenn, and toying with going to loretta lynns on the 21st, but probably won't go. Let me know we are not that far away.
Probably could make it over there for a few days thow.
Posted by: gaff
I'm working this week but will go up to hammond on the well 21st, there is a race there isn't there.
well I'll go up there any way and maybe catch the open practice at gonzaless on my way home. Let me know what your up to.
I have never seen hammond, so no I won't race it, unless you need another quad to have a race
Posted by: gaff
I'll ask her to come lonestarbanshee, but she probably will blow me off.
I sure would like to ride those MX style tracks, me and the lakota are a little heavy for those supercross tracks.
I hate hiering how every one does and were they go and all the tracks here are going supercross style. This isn't bad if your on a bike but man I'm telling you there is a couple jumps I sure hope special shows me how to take them, because my back still hurts.
The ones I'm having trouble with are the smallest 2 as well, go figure!!!!!
Posted by: gaff
realy it's the double coming out of the woods and the one after that down that straight were you take a right around the pole and it's rite thier, a small jump or flat or what ever it is.
The double coming off the table top over closest to the road, I hope you don't think I'm taking both of them, although that would be the best way. The first jump has no back to it so it seems like you fall for ever, but the secound one has some sand on the other side, you can realy get a run on the finish line top from there.
I just seen to many places were I was jamming my self. I watched the other quads for a few laps to see how they were taking these rough spots and they were doing the same as me, slowing way down taking it the best they can.
It was fun and a good time, just those couple spots were killing any rythum I had. I don't know maybe if you have some time soon we can head over and see were I'm going wrong.
I want to try the hammond track badly. I hier they just re-did it and that it was real nice. I also would like to get off the dried black jack mud. That stuff is either swampy or hard as a rock. Then they import the sand to try and hide it. Makes it terrible for trying to get traction. Rock hard here, rock hard with some dusty gravel on top over there, and then beach sand in some of the straights.
Hope I'm not complaining, just need more time on the new track, just when I had the old one wipped.
Lets get together in hammond soon, would love to ride there!!!

send me the addy for brough bridge, I would like to try it.
I won't be home untill the 18th and then I'll be off for 3 weeks. So I will hook up with you some were.
Maybe when the little humps are worn a little on all those jumps it will make thewm a lil better for quads. But you must admit it sure is nice for a bike!!!
Posted by: gaff
mxbubs,
Not sure were your coming from but if you are on I-10 coming east or west exit on the I-310 exit just west of new orleans. This highway will bring you towards houma/boutte. I-310 is maybe a 15 minute ride, when you get to the end hang a left. This will be highway 90 west. Just ride up there about 15 min. and it's on the left, can't miss it.
On the 20th they will have a half time to the car races were they will run a open money for the bikes, wich they are throwing a extra $400 in. They also will have a mini race and quad race.
On the 21st they have a big doings as well but not sure of the money that day, but they will have 5' trouphies.
Let me know were your coming from as they have plenty tracks around and pretty much can pick your flavor!!!
Thier is plenty big air to be had at LA supercross, quite a bizzy track to ride.
Let me know when your heading our way I'll meet you there. Or were ever you all want to ride. I would like to make a trip out to the TQRA one time. I have access to a pop up I could bring to save on some funds if any ones interested.

special,
Sorry to hier about your crash.
I'll try and find you saterday night. I'm going to call jay today and see if I can find out what time the half time show is.
I might, but not sure yet, let my son enter the sunday race. It's all up to his mother. She has told me not to enter him any more untill he wants to enter. But he realy likes that stuff.
I'll come out and practice and possibly enter a race with you all, but only if you need another to make a race.
With my XC set up and the summer season starting next week, I just don't want to mess up my quad trying to master a SX track. But I would still like to get up with you all. As you probably won't be doing any racing untill you heal some.
So I'll see you saterday!!!
Posted by: gaff
I can't believe that about LA supercross, what a bum that guy is.
It figures thow, We have no leadership at all as far as quads goes. This would be a very good issue for our ATVA rep, oops what ATVA rep????
I never noticed how bad they treated the quad guys, being this is my first year off the bikes, but man I know now.
It would be cool to try the TQRA out over in texas. It takes alot more planning because of cash reasons, but they have some good quad classes and seem to have thier stuff together.
But if you find a good place to go let me know.
Sorry I didn't go, kinda messed up my shoulder chanding my pool liner out, but see you soon.

When will the pro's be there for the ama mx races.

Hey gaff I went to avondale last Thursday night.I realy like that track now.It is wide open and full of diferent lines.I am riding a new speed now.I still have the ex though.
They are suposed to be redoing the whole hammond track for this weeking.I am planning on raceing there on Sunday.I haven't raced since there race in febuary.I mised last months race.I had to work.
I was told by the owner there was 22 quads.I went there this past Saturday the track was in very bad shape.
tpreder,What dates is it.I want to take a vacation from work and go there.
Posted by: special

mrp,the last time I road in pervice was with
Louis Smith and Mike Wall that was in December.Have they changed the track since then?Next time I can get up to Rock hill I will send you a PM.Maybe next month.
Posted by: special
Yodaddy,I cant realy do any major travaling any more without a lot of planning ahead.I have 2 kids one is a 7 year old girl, and a two year old boy(future mx star).Maybe I can plan a trip out that way soon.I would like to ride with you and loanstarbanshee.
Gaff,MrP,mxbubs1,efg,
I drive a yellow nissan frontier, and ride a speed #11 if any of you guys se me at any track come say hi.
We need to all get together and ride.
Posted by: special
I think I know one that u might be having a little trouble with.Is it the double after the table top in the middle of the track?I usually seat hop that one.I have seen a few quads case it prety bad there.
Posted by: special
I know which ones now.I took me a few times out on the track to do the double coming out the woods back on the track.I have never seen any other quad do that one. That table closest to the car track is nuts and the double after it.I cleared that table a few times the landing sucks,it feels like your about 20 feet in the air if you clear it.I dont think I will be going for that one all the time.
That landing will kill any Quad and rider lol.
Posted by: special
Im racing at hammond sunday, the track is suposed to be totally redone.Probley sx style. That is wear I normally ride.My favorite track is in BroughBridge. If you never been there you need to try it out.The jumps are more mx style, and they always have a good crowd of quads. It takes me 2 1/2 hrs to drive there from NewOrleans.
Posted by: special
Well I went to Hammond this weekend they changed it alot.It has some huge jumps now,The faces are ranging from 5foot to 12 foot high and
from 5foot to 90 foot long.
I went on saturday to learn the new jumps to race on Sunday.I was doing all but the 90 foot triple and 90 foot ski jump before I crashed hard.I was doing a double about 60 foot long and high sided the landing.I was not able to race on Sunday I have torn legaments in my rotater cup and a fracture in my colar bone.I meet markvet and his famley from these forums there Saturday.I went back on Sunday and watched the races. There was I think 6 quads.I think every one thought it was going to raine. The last race there were 19 quads.
Gaff,I have to dig around to get you broughbridge info.
I will be a avondale this Saturday night.Probley just a spectator.
Posted by: special
Hey Gaff,
Are you still going to Avondale tonight?I am going. My shoulder feels prety good today I think Im going to race.
Well if your going I'll see ya there.
Posted by: special
To anyone interested in going to the track in avondale,
They totaly screwed the 4wheeler class there this Sat and Sunday.
There was suposed to be a 400 dollar purse for the 4wheeler class that raced Saturday night during halftime of the mud car race acording to the flier I got in the mail. That was BS.It was 100% pay back,7 quads 210dollars.At sign up they told us all it was going to be 12 laps(I just about passed out emagining 12 laps, lol),Then they anounced it was going to be 8 laps over the loud speaker.Well I blew the start and still managed to get 2nd place hole shot.I was in no hurry to try and pass the leader,I wanted to pace myself and make a move around lap 5 or so.Well with no warning the checkerd flag came out at the end of lap 4,and had to settle with 2nd place. When I asked the offical what the f**k was going on he said move along he has no time for me.
Today I went to race there again and there were about 10 quads.
They stuck us running the last moto again.Moto #20.There has been about 6 races there and every time we get stuck racing dead last. The owner says that all the dirt bike guys complain that we tare up the track.Thats BS he needs to go have a look at the track after the 250money class gets off it.Anyway all the quad guys stuck together
today and complained. The owner said take your money and get the f**k out of here.He didnt even give us the time of day.
Thats my last ride there. They have no respect for quads and we usually put on the best show out of all the classes.
This is starting to be a trend at all the tracks down here.
Posted by: special
I raced at Fernwood a few times.I found out today that the guy who was leasing the land is giving it up.We were going to go there today but they were closed untill further notice.
Also to all,Hammond closed there track friday due to insurance purposes.Looks like im S.O.L. around here,I'll be doing some travaling to ride now.

The races will be around Aug. 16-20, somewhere within them four days I believe. Do you ever ride New Iberia?
Posted by: MXBUBS1
That avondale track is just southwest of New Orleans on HWY 90? Doesnt it have lights? I think I past it the other day. New Iberia rocks. I havent rode in 4 months, building a full blown yzf426. Should be ready to go in about 3 months. Also, where is Purvis? Is that a Mississippi Track?
Posted by: MXBUBS1
NO PROBLEM RACEWAY--The guy has his drag and street track set up, he is just starting to break ground for the MX track.
So Avondale is right off HWY 90 with the lights and car track just southwest of New ORleans?
I went to the track, Toledo Bend Motorcross, when it is worked, it is UNBELIEVABLE...........very BIG jumps.......it is by far the best track I have ever ridden...it has everything, every kind of obstacle. The guy that owns it works offshore, so it rarely gets worked. If you go, call way in advance to make sure it will be prepped. Here is the link. Click on the 'schedule' to see the BIG air.
http://www.sabinenews.com/motocross/index2.html
TQRA--I have been meaning to make a trip up there, when I get my YZ done, get back into shape, I plan on doing some races there.
Posted by: MrP
MXBUBS1- Purvis is in Mississippi. It is about 8 miles outside of Hattiesburg. There are two tracks in Purvis. Rock Hill and The Landing. Rock Hill is a nice track with good dirt and a few big jumps that are fun. They race at night on the 2nd and 4th weekends and practice on Thursdays. I usually go there every Thursday to practice so let me know if your ever coming over. The Landing is a joke. I have been there twice and I will never go back. All the jumps are washed out and they never water the track so its real dusty. They practice on Tuesday nights and I dont know when they race but I am sure its on the 1st and 3rd weekends. Well I will talk to you later. MrP.

Hey Gaff, are you gonna be going to any TQRA races?
Special- I don't know where Meraux, Louisiana is but if it's not to far away from Texarkana, Texas, you should check out Fourstates MX. I'm guessing it's gonna be quite a long way away from you but I thought you might like to know. Their website is www.fourstatesmx.com and it would be awesome to see another C-dale at the tracks.
Any good tracks in the northern Louisiana/ southern Arkansas area?
Posted by: YoDaddy
Gaff- This weekend (April 14th) is the Season Warm Up Race at Fourstates MX (which would probably be the closest track to yall... as far as tracks in Texas) and then the next weekend is Rnd 2 of the TLSS in Village Creek, but unfortunately I probably wont be able to make it to that race April 28- Rnd 3 of TLSS at Swan MX, and then May is pretty quite... Rnd 4 of the TLSS is on May 12 but other than that, there aren't to many races goin on.
Just some info.
Posted by: YoDaddy
Man, that sucks to hear that yall don't get any respect over there. Most of the tracks here don't give the quads all the respect they deserve but for the most part, there isn't a whole lot of "prejudice" towards the quads here. Fourstates MX and especially Badlands and Caddo Point MX are VERY cool to the quad riders. I hope some of you guys can make it out to Swan MX. If any of you guys need some info, just e-mail me or PM me and I'll try to give you all the information I can.
Posted by: efg
thats cool that you guys race up at the landing and rock hill i race my 250r and my 80 up there sometimes
Posted by: Raptor58
Special, do you race in ferwood very often. I live about two miles from the track but I've never been on it. I've watched some dirtbikes there but never seen any quads. I've been thinkin about takin my raptor out one practice day.
