Ok here is the way I see it. I doubt anyone can get a quad only series going, by the sounds of it. So why dont we just start a riding group and do just that. We can hook up on weekends and ride.. Try out different places and just have a blast.. So what do you think??

I haven't forgot about the series. I e-mailed AMA District 12/ track owners a while ago and asked them there thoughts and ideas on such a series. I haven't heard anything at all from them yet. I am going to try to contact them again and I will keep you all posted.

Going to ride indoors sounds good. I could get quite a few people up for renting the indoor track. It would be a nice drive to get there but it would be some riding. As for the quad series next year, I think we should try to get a study put together to show the AMA, ATVA, or track owners or whatever that such a event or events would work and draw some numbers. They aren't going to start a series or event if they are only going to get a few riders. I know this isn't going to be the case but we need to prove it to them. As far as starting a oqra, it would be awesome but 1. A boat load of money would be needed to start it. 2. The oqra would need some tracks to ride at which would mean either leasing or buying land which = more $. 3. Insurance and all the other expenses of maintaining a track would be left to the oqra. I don't know, if enough people got together and worked at it it may fly but it would still be a lot of $$$$ i don't have.

Yea that is the general replies I have gotten. What they aren't realizing is that if there was such a series, riders would go to a quad only race before any other event for the most part.Quad riders aren't usually interested in hanging out waiting for the bikes to run. They could go race, and then go home. No 16 hr days at the track.I'm going to check with a sponsor of mine that sponsors a outlaw series in Holmes county. I will see if they can hook me up with the people that run it and maybe we can have at least 1 or 2 quad only races for 2002 to show the AMA or ATVA that it would be worthwhile for 2003. I will probably know more on Thursday so I will keep you all posted if I find more out.

atv88,

That would be great if you hear back from the AMA. However Fast400_16 and I were thinking about having a quad mx series that that did not have anything to do with the AMA. The AMA doesn't really have a whole lot of interest with quad riders in my opinion. I think that Jute has a good idea. If we can't get an Ohio mx series together this summer, then we should just start some kind of riding club and plan places to ride at on certain weekends next summer. Ross (Fast400_16) is working on this entire thing. Anyway, let's keep in touch and try to respond asap if you find anything out from the AMA.

SORRY FELLAS, YOU HAVE TO EXCUSE MY FRIEND ROSS WHEN HE SAYS HE THINKS TIM FARR WILL HELP US. I THINK TIM FARR HAS TOO MUCH OTHER THINGS GOING ON WITH HIS SERIES. ROSS HAS A LITTLE BIT OF THE RE-TARD IN HIM SO SOMETIMES YOU WILL HAVE TO EXCUSE HIS IGNORANCE!!!!

SORRY ROSS, I JUST HAD TO SAY IT!!!!

Jute,

Your post listed above does seem logical, however last night my friend Ross (Fast400_16) informed me that he got a response from a track saying that they are very seriously interested in having a Quad Racing Series using their track. In light of this new evidense, we are now a lot further along in getting this organization started. I e-mailed the guy who e-mailed Ross the other day, so hopefully I will hear back from him as soon as possible.

I understand that you are from Mayfield Heights, which I don't know where exactly in Ohio that is but this track is located in Galion, Ohio which is located about 30 miles north of Columbus right off of I-71. The name of the track is calles Sunset Ramblers. I don't know a whole lot about it yet, but hopefully I will soon.

Now, what I need from all of you guys is to know that all of you guys are still 100% interested in starting this event. If you have any other buddies that you currently ride with please invite them as well. I don't know if there will be any costs, I would guess that there would be, but not a whole lot. You know, just to get things started.

Please e-mail me or Ross if you are still interested in taking part in this event. In your e-mail please include the following:

Name and address
Make and Model of the quad that you intend to race
list of modifacations done to your quad

Please send your e-mail to me (Fourtracker14@aol.com) or Ross (rossdantonio@hotmail.com)

Thank you

I is me ross again, I haven't heard from atv88 about a series yet so i am asking you to reply and tell me what info you have gathered.
I emailed Tim Farr about helping us, i doubt i will hear a reply, anyway i need to know about this series, if you haven't called any tracks yet i will call them. Please email me rossdantonio@hotmail.com and tell me your name, class you wish to race in, type of machine, and a short message that tells me why we should get this series ( we as in quad racers). I will compile these emails into a patition and send it to tracks and sponsors. I just picked up fmf, outerwears, and sidewinder as sponsors i will also run the patition by thier noses as well. I need to know because the 2002 series will be upon us soon. Also i would like to get a group of guys and gals and go on a mx track trip 4 like 1 or 2 weeks, we would just travel, ride and race. We might be able to hit places like high point and red bud and some other national tracks like that. Anyway just reply and email me so we can get this series started.

SHUT YOUR HOLE WANG CHUNG I know farr won't help us i am just trying to get our racing rolling, I am going to request that if you respnded to this topic that you email me with your name, riding #, class u wish to ride in, and a short paragraph on why you wish to have a quad only series, check or pit racer .com i emailed all of those tracks. zero gravity motorsports replied basicly saying a few quad racers rewened it for all of us, if u ever got kicked out of zero g thanks alot. anyway just email me with any suggestions, i am going to organise a club and call it oqra, ohio quad racers association, if u have any others email me or post them, i am open to any and all ?'s. Anyway i feel that if we have an orgasisation behind us (even if the org. is us) than we will have a better chance of having a quad only circut. I am going to purchase microsft powerpoint and front page so i can create some graphics and a web site so make us look more pro. so i will talk to you guys later keep me posted, also the american mx indoor series is allowing quads on sat and sun races, email me 4 the race dates and check out americanmx.com. also 4 $160.00 per hour we can rent out a heated indoor track in marion if we get 8 people it will cost $20.00 per person. so reply and we will set a date and hook up, ride and organise our organisation.

The main purpose of the oqra is to get a dedicated organisation of racers and riders 2 race and play ride. Also to have and organisation behind our cause. broken spokes replied 2 my email here is what it said "Ross,
You seem sincere so I will answer your query the best I can.
First,if utilty quads are included in your statistics on sales, you would be
correct. But we must be concerned with "competition only"quads being
sold,and the numbers aren't there.
I really wish we,including all D12 promoters, could justify "quads only"
events. I have a lot of quads at Spokes for practices including Tim Farr and
I consider most of them friends. Thats why I hate having to treat them like
2nd class citizens as far as classes go. "IT SUCKS".
I'm sure you don't want to hear this over and over but we've talked this
over time and time again in our meetings and we are hitting a wall.I would
be very ,very interested in any positive help you and your fellow riders
could donate to the cause. It's also a problem for the CRA and they get
large turnouts of quads. So with D-12s' smaller turnout, our hands are tied.
Hope this helps you understand our situation,we all understand your point
and wish things could be different.
Bob Grewell."

fourtracker14 and i are in school so we don't have full time jobs to come up with alot of $ but after i get my quad all decked out 4 mx this season i will throw down some $ this summer. But i plan on racing Jan. 5 at the marion fairgrounds. So keep your ideas comming and i will keep all of you posted on any info i get. All of you try and contact tracks to get them to participate in a series.
