Hello,
Has anyone heard anything about the new AMA rule for the PRO CLASS? Supposedly you will not be allowed to run a aftermarket frame in the PRO class and you must use the stock engine for that quad which means no dirt bike engines.
This rule really puts a damper on my excitement for putting a CRF engine in a quad and anyone who wants to put a YZF engine. What will happen to Team Green's KXF quad with the KX250 engine in it. I heard this from the owner of the dealership I work in and it came as a shock.

what the fools at the atva want is 2 pro classes, one as is, the other a pro-stock class, sorta like iroc! hope this answers your question

i wish it would come into effect. i don't think thats really fair having an aftermartket frame and dirtbike engine. it makes having a competitive bike out of the unattainable for the average racer and it allows quad companys to just release downtuned quads year after year.

Those rules were proposed but NOT adopted (see the ATVA website atvaonline.com). This was for the Grand National Series (mx and tt) only. The GNCC uses the AMA Amatuer Rules as their guideline with additions available at the GNCC website (gnccracing.com).

i think that they should start makin quads in the dirt bike frames...like the yzf and but like cr 80 motors in lt frames and start a mass production...i think it would relly raise the sport

I hope that they don't put that in affect, cause i just built a yz80/blaster conversion. I only spent like 2000.00, so it is not out ragisly costly.

hey stroker,
I live in green bay, and race at denmark, crivits, crystal falls, ect. I am 16, and am getting a 300ex to race, and my little bro, who is 12, i am built a yz80/blaster conversion. I am having a few problems though, that i am hoping u might be able to help me out with, the chain dosen't fit the sprocket of the blaster, but the blaster chain dosen't fit the front sproket of the yz80, any suggestions? Where are the national, i would love to race them! O, and the name is brockdorf.
