New shocks buddy. Shocks and tires make a world of difference on any quad.

So what's wrong with the R? Let's not talk about how much better the R is than the banshee on the track, only sometimes that counts. If i'm not mistaken my buddy is in 1ST overall at The Badlands Full Moon Series. And he rides a BANSHEE! hehe see ya at the next race.

Posted by: Jennifer

Yeah he walloped pretty bad the first time. Considering that was his first race out there on the bike since he put it together though. He said Chuck is pretty good, and is supposed to be there for the rest of the series. Considering it's his first year to race 1st overall so far is pretty good. He said him and Chuck were neck and neck most of the time. Considering Chuck rides a banshee also, I find that pretty impressive. Last race was pretty cool 1st banshee, 2nd banshee, 3rd banshee. I'll tell you who flies also is Jimmy on the banshee. Dude is bad! How long before you get your quad fixed?

Posted by: Jennifer

Where was your first race at? I figure everyone has a bad race here and there. Chucks 1st race which was round 2 of the FMS he got a 9th overall in that race. Turn around and next race he's kickin. Consistency is what counts in MX as i'm sure you know. Scotts had a few mechanical problems but luckily they haven't been during a race. How are you doing in the series so far? I wasn't sure what your name was when I was looking at the results on the badlands web site. Anybody brave enough to do that is kick booty in my book. I'll stick to ther trails.

Posted by: Jennifer

Well I live north of Dallas about an hour or so. I'm wedged in between I35 and I75. If you are every coming to the area let us know and we'll take you to a few places. There are a few good places to ride trails up here. Most are within 45 minutes of where I live. We don't do a lot of track riding though, mainly trails. We have one guy that rides with us on a turbo DS650, but we haven't seen him in a while. Anyway if you plan on coming this way somwtime give us a hollar.

Posted by: Jennifer

I guess you'll be investing in a casesaver now too. I had a chain come off once and thought for sure I had cracked the case on mine. But I was lucky and it hadn't. So what are you going to do with the banshee if you have it setup for MX, but are riding the 250? I did meet Philip at one of the races there or it may have been a practice. So when you think you'll start racing again? Scott was saying that there are three races in a row at Badlands. 2 for FMS. And a xmas one. You ever think about running the TLSS race schedule. It's supposed to be good too. They race at several tracks though. Later.

What type of gas are you running with you 15:1 compression ratio? What length is your aftermarket swingarm?

It must be nice to be the only one that knows about these top secrets axles. I thought manufacturers made things to sell not to keep them a big secret.. I guess I am just not worthy!!!!!

Posted by: lonestarbanshee

And uhh, tell me how you fitted that Rad Valve beside the Reed Valve.. I've been trying to do this on my Banshee for years! And, how do the NYLON reeds hold up? I'm not sure, but I always thought that a reed cage was supposed to be made out of a metal like material.. instead of fabric?

What kind of porting do you have? What's polished? The 160's would bend if you got over 4ft of air. What size domes are you "cool heads"? Oh yeah, if this thing is soooo bad @$$ on an MX Track.. and that's where you ride... Where are your nerf bars? I don't see them listed! AMA requires Nerfs to race buddy.

Lay off man, you're giving the 10years old and under kids a bad reputation. Go to bed now.. Mommy's calling

Posted by: lonestarbanshee

Oh, hey, by the way... 250R's will stomp Banshee's on an MX track. Trust me, I race both.

Posted by: lonestarbanshee

1st mod should be a Pro-Flow kit. If you dont know what that is, its a plate that mounts on your airbox and replaces the yamaha filter clamp on thing...haha..

Posted by: lonestarbanshee

Jennifer, would you be referring to Scott Sanders? If so, he has one hellacious bike. That thing is too sweet! To my knowledge, Scott has never recieved a 1st place trophy there. His 1st time out he got spanked pretty badly. He gets better every time though. My 250R threw the chain on my 1st lap of practice at the FMS Round 3. I made a small double, corner, then one of the bigger doubles, and it came loose and cracked the case.. again. I'm not bashing your friend or anything, but the only reason he's in 1st is because Chuck Merritt has been having bike problems. Jennifer you probably recognize my 250R. I bought it off Philip Cross.. He lives in Commerce. I doubt I'll be riding the next FMS night, but, look me up. I might flag... Hey, that's $40, free food, and the best seat in the house. What more could you possibly ask for?

Posted by: lonestarbanshee

Yeah, but I disagree with what Scott said about being neck and neck. Chuck was a good distance in front of him in the last moto. Another ironic thing about the last FMS race was like you said, 1st, 2nd, and 3r were Banshees, and ALL the rest were 400EX's. Scott's bike is very nice, and I know how it feels to be racing a "Just-Done" job. Only I got 1st when I did it. I'm leaving right now to go to Spruiell Honda, and yes, Jimmy does fly for one arm. Take it easy. Hit me back

SOrry for the slow reply Jennifer, but I thought I replied already, but I was wrong. My 1st race was at Badlands, and I placed 3rd in open amateur. I was right behind Chuck, and when we crossed the finish line, I passed him in the air.. but they scored him before me. Chuck has been racing ALOT longer than the 2nd round though! He has been going to that track since I have been going(all season). My "just done" race was at Four States in Texarkana though. It was my 1st time to go to the track, and I wanted to try my LSR's out before I began the FMS. I'm not doing soo hott in the points though. I"m currently 7th, and falling fast. I dont plan on racing anymore, just flagging. I got in touch with K&K(cheapest i've found) and their cases are $275+shipping, and Im reluctant to race the Banshee because if it breaks, I have to fix it just to sell it!

ITSFAST, I'm 100 miles east of Dallas. The track we're talking about is right outside of Greenville.

Jennifer,

I have talked to Aaron Conner(ctbanshee) about the TLSS and I have thought about it. Yes, I will be investing in a case saver. Actually, I'm thinking about buying a billet one, then copying the pattern onto a 1/4" peice of solid steel, and using it until I can figure out what's wrong with my 250R. The Banshee is now up for sale. If you know of anyone looking to buy one, point them my way. Scott is right. The last 2 FMS races are the 17th, and the 24th. Then, on December 2nd, they are having a Christmas charity ride. If you have the stuff to meet requirments, you should bring your Banshee and race that one! If I have my 250R back together, I'll definately be there.

just one question... whats a duralube axle? well maybe two questions... how are those .160 wheels holding up to jumping? maybe 3... how do you get 15:1 compression on a shee? Think I could get 20:1 outta my R?

Posted by: adamsmith

Even if he is telling the truth. I just think it is sad that this thread is getting so much attention. I posted a thread about the Southern Atv Winter Nationals a real race series that would cut out all the benchracing, and cant even get a single response. I have to say I am kinda suprised nobody is interested in the series, but everybody will give this foolishness an audience.

That is why I posted in here. This thread has like a 140 hits and my Southern Atv Nationals thread has like 20. If people are really interested in racing on dirt and not in their imagination how about giving it a look. I know it isnt convenient for everyone being the races are in VA and NC, but I know their are alot of people in the surrounding states who could check out at least one event. You could get some practice for the GNCs at the Birch Creek MX track and the Elizabeth City TT track.

I had the same question: a 15:1 compression ratio with gasoline would be difficult to say the least, I have never even heard of 4-stroke being that high.
If your telling the truth (no accusation intended) then you have a nice Banshee.

Posted by: quadMXer70

Maybe so, LT80Killer... But what a retarded joke.

Posted by: CdaleRacer

Guys,I know how he got the 15:1 compression ratio. He got a .400 (seriously look at what he wrote +.40) over piston and forgot to bore the cylinders! HA!HA!.

Posted by: TRX250Rman

why would you have a pro-x head and a coolhead. And a 47mm keihin carb.c'mon.no way.u say u have mx holeshots front and rear.which obviously means its an mx bike.therefore why would you use a 47 mm carb for mx.how old are u.obviously you got a magazine and just looked up the most expensive products and listed them on your so called "mod list".yea right.this kind of 5hit is making me want to leave these forums. grow up and GET A LIFE

Posted by: TRX250Rman

if he wants to make a joke then he should go to a comedy forum. Its just plain stupid on this forum.

Posted by: Kadafiy

Your Banshee isn't even that bad ass.

Posted by: Kadafiy

This kid isn't telling the truth because he has another thread asking what kind of modifications he should do and then you see the long list of mods he has in this one.

Posted by: scooterboy

That's nothing. I've got a CB 125 that runs on powdered dynamite.
