I recently bought a set of grooved Radials for my 250r. I had fast trackers with the side nobs cut off.So far I am very disappointed in the radials.I ride almost exclusively on a mx track and any time the track is a little muddy or a little to dry the radials do not get any bite.I was wondering if the holeshot mx fronts mite be a better choice for all around or should I go back to the old reliable fast trackers.I have tried several different tire pressures,Lower pressure better traction but hit the rims on landing the big jumps. Higher pressure less traction, no turning ability.I would like to here from any one who has made the switch from radials to the holeshots.

My bigest complaint with the radials is the mud. They are like slicks when the track gets a little muddy.I think i will sell them and give the holeshot mx a try.

I have a 86 250r with 89 length swingarm +2 a arms with about 2 degrees of camber,10 ponds of air in the tires.I tried puting more camber in it and it did turn better but was very darty down the straits. The only way I could get them to work good was by riding further up on the seat in the corners. They liked to push in the corner and then grab to turn.I ordered hoelshot mx tires yesterday and will give them a try.

I actually got the holeshot mx sitting on my kitchen floor.I had a accident at work so all I can do is drool on them for now. They look great and i cant wait to put a few laps on them!!

I have had both, and also front trekkars. I like the MX fronts the best. They are readily available and cost less depending on where you get them. And besides, why support a car tire manufacturer when you could support a ATV tire manufacturer?

well I dont know about the radials, I've never rode on them, but my new holeshot MX fronts own the old 21" holeshots I had, they dont ball up in mud, and they grab fine on the blue grooved corners too. I have no complaints at all.

I'm curious, but what shop did you get the radials from and who did the grooving? I've had grooved radials from Nacs for several years, and every so often I change to one of my other sets (Holeshots and Bandits) for testing; maybe I'm just used to the radials, but they seem to provide the most PREDICTABLE traction (not the best, but the most consistent and predictable). It could be that bike setup/model has an influence on tire behavior. By the way, I run 10lbs of air on mine when muddy, and 6lbs when dry, I'm using '86 length swingarm, +2 a-arms on a TRX250R, and I weight 210lbs. I actually think that Bandit fronts track better on corners than Holeshots, though they're a little squiggly on fast, choppy straights.
