Spring Valley does not even have any stands for spectators. They screwed up the points when I ran there. I don't plan on going back.

I race mostly district 12 in Ohio in the Blaster and 4-stroke classes. The tracks are awesome. You should give it a try. The people and promoters are great and the tracks are mostly of a national caliber.

I race xc util class I have a Grizzly 660. I race in the CRA and AMA. Anyone here going to the John Penton GNCC this weekend?

Posted by: m14brian

I raced in the Scarecrow GNCC it was very long but fun XC course.

Anyone interested in starting a racing group in NEO. This would be just for fun and maybe to meet up with people to go to a race with. I only race in scrambles and GNCC. I would be willing to maintain a contact list and email members information on up coming races and other points of interest.

That's cool. I want to start running hare scrambles next year, and I live in Massillon. Drop me a message BenjaminPQ and maybe we can go riding sometime.

BenjaminPQ, I've been to Elson Street a couple times, and I've been to Bear Creek a couple times. Drop me a message and maybe your brother (and you) can ride with me there. My Raptor currently has a bent upper a-arm, so it's out of commission, but I should have my +2+1 arms in this week, along with a new set of shocks, so I should be ready to go (hopefully) this weekend.

Posted by: IceMan11

Yep, got the Raptor back together, and it's running good :-). The dealer actually replaced the a-arm for free (got the warranty to cover it. woohoo!)

Elson Street is almost all trail riding. If that's what you like, the place is good. I really don't think it would be worth the drive from PA to go to, it's not really that big.

I actually found another place to ride this past weekend that's fairly nice. I seems the state of ohio bought a piece of land near Strawsburg, OH (south of Massillon OH) that they have opened up for offroad use. It's basically an old strip mine, so it's pretty wide open with some ok hillclimbs, and some nice jumps. If you're look to race MX, this might be a good place to practice. When I was there this past sunday I bet there was about 20 people there (on quads, dirt bikes, 4x4 trucks, etc). There's no MX track there, but I'm sure the terrain there is fairly similar to a MX course. There is even a set of hills there that resembles a double. I saw a guy on a dirt bike do it, haven't seen anyone on a quad do it tho. This place isn't all that huge either, but if you're from the Massillon/Canton/Wooster/Orville/Dover/New Philly area, it's worth checking out... Here are some real quick directions to it:

Get off at Strawsburg exit (State Route 21) on I-77 and head north. Turn Left at the first left you can make. If you pass a Hardees you're gone too far. Not too far down this road, it makes a sharp left, and there is a dirt trail going straight. Get on this dirt trail. Turn left at the second left you can make. Follow the trail back and find a safe place to park and enjoy the ride.

BenjaminPQ, if you're not up to anything Saturday, I think I'll be heading out there. Would like someone to go along since my riding buddy is gonna be PW'd this coming weekend. Drop me a note if you wanna go.

I race district 12 MX at broken spokes, mainly in Beginer class (at least until halfway through next season) at Broken Spokes Raceway in New Philadelphia. Has anyone ever been in one of the Urichsville XC races? What was it like?

Posted by: BenjaminPQ

My brother and I race. He has a Blaster I have a KTM. His first race was at Malvern this past weekend. He got 9th in the second Blaster class.

I race Hare Scrambles, and if you want to get into it I would suggest Salem or Mansfield for your first time, very easy tracks.

I just raced Broken Spokes Scramble two weeks ago and it was a great track. It's a little more difficult then most tracks though.

If you live in the Massillon or Wooster area and are a beginning rider I'm sure he would like to practice with someone rather it be MX or Cross County.

Posted by: BenjaminPQ

IceMan11, I would highly recommend Hare Scrambles. I think it's nice to have more then 5 min. races. My brother would just flip if he got to ride with someone with a Raptor. Have you ever been to Elson St. Riding Park? We could go there sometime, they're open all day every weekend. Let me know if your interested.

MXRacer27, I have seen your name on several web sites, can't really remember witch ones though. My brother has only raced the last 2 Malvern races. His name is Kyle Otto #111 on an orange Blaster. He got 9th out of 10 at the race last weekend and 8 out of 9 today.

Elson St. riding park is located on Rt.43 between Battlesburg MX and Malvern MX.

It's just trail riding though, but if you have never heard of Battlesburg it is a fun place to practice.

IceMan11, Get your Raptor back together?

Tooey,
My brother lives in adena (250r drag bike/01 worrier) and so doesn't my nephew (01 400ex)
They ride all over, as a matter of fact I rode out your way for years and your one lucky guy. Just so much riding area out your way.
My brother drags down in hopedale and ather areas in the try-state region. Do you ride with any one down in adena.
