The only things that are typically required for XC racing are boots and a helmet...
You may want to look into a kill switch - Pro Design makes nice ones.
Also look into a steering damper.
If you've got some money burning a hole in your pocket, check into some aftermarket shocks setup for XC racing. Works triple rates will be better than stock - but there are better availble (of course, they'll cost more :))
A good set of tires should be on your quad also. I run Holeshots & RAZRs - they both work nicely.
XC classes are mostly based on rider skill and loosely machine "class". You'll be racing in either a open 4 stroke class or a beginner "open" class - depending on how many classes are offered by the series. Either way, you are going to be dealing with bikes that are more powerful and handle better. That doesn't mean you won't have fun & be able to put up a descent fight though. What this really means is that if you decide to continue racing & are of really competitive nature, you'll probably end up wanting a different quad.

Am thinkin about racin cross country on my warrior. What kind of mods should I put on it to race and what class would I be in? And would works triple rates be good?
