Try a second plug, not all plugs that are brand new work.

my '85 honda 3-wheeler is not firing. can barely see hint of a spark in darkess w/plug to ground; new plug ngk. not sure of electrical testing procedure. please help!:

does anyone have any advice on how to test the coil & exciter windings

If in all doubt of spark, have a friend kick or hit the starter and grab that plug with your bare hands. It will tell you if its sparkin or not.
