how do you tighen the cam chain teners and how do u know where how tight to get it

I am not sure about the 86 but on the 84 there is a cam chain adjustment bolt on the left hand side it is covered by a rubber cap. There is a cap that unscrews the will show when the chain is adjusted properly. On the 84 it is a huge slotted cap on the same side as the adjustment screw. You remove the cap and then losen the adjustment bolt while the engine is running, rev the engine to 1500 rpm and tighten the bolt. There is a letter under the cap that will line up when it is properly tightened.
