I cant seem to figure out why my ATC wont run for more than two daysMy dad first played with the wiring, and found that we needed a new coil, so we put the one in from the 200s (same coil) and it ran perfect for a week with NO breakup at all in high range. Then it sputtered out, causing me to push it home. My Dad played with the floats in the carb, and it ran for a couple hours. Then it sputtered out once more. We then found that the spark plug wasnt in good condition, and fouled, but it was fairly new. So we replaced that. It worked for today, now 10 minutes ago it sputtered out again, and I had to push it up a hill.....I am REALLY tired of this thing now.
Anyone know what it could be?

Mike, first off, $500....hahahahahaha..........................second, when are you getting up here? Third, could it be getting too much fuel from somewhere else?

I mean, somewhere else as in, could the choke not be correct? I cant run it hard, because now it wont even start. No, no bigger jet, because it ran like crap with the big one in it, so we stuck with the 152, which is over recomendation anyway.

If just fouling out the plug is your only prob....Then you just need to adjust your mixture and lean it out.......If you are real tired of it I will give you $500 for it!

1st....I had to try BR>2nd...I have to buy a trailer, but I have to pay bills first BR>3rd...what do you mean "from somewhere else"? Two stroked do not like to "put" around... If you run it pretty hard does it still foul the plug?....Did you end up putting a bigger jet in the carb after your mods, or did you change your needle position?

I wish I had known that the older 250R's were worth a little cash. About a month before I bought my 85 R that I had been looking for for about a year there were two 250R's for sale in the local sales paper. I went to look at the and saw they were the older ones and didn't buy em. The guy was asking $500 for both and they both ran and had decent tires. There wasn't much to the bodies though. But, I was on a mission to find my new love so I passed them by. I didn't know they were desireble.
