Im almost positive that all the liquid 250R's had the same counter shaft, and sproket.

The rears are different, I believe. 83thru 86 fronts are the same. I have a set front and rear that I'd sell you, both new. I sold my 85 d.crone@comcast.net

Does anyone know what is different about the 85 and 86-89 countershafts on 250r's? I am trying to get a new set (sprockets and chain), but everyone keeps telling me that the 85 is different. Also, any comments about chain/sprocket preferences/experiences are appreciated.

Thanks for the responses. I figured they are the same. I am thinking of getting the Gold O-ring 12000lb tensile strength chain and the alloy sprockets as a set from Sidewinder Sprockets. Kind of spendy but I shouldn't have to buy them again. Anyone have any thoughts about Sidewinder, like how they rank relative to RK, DID, etc. ?

dragracer is correct, they are the same.

Well i have that 86R in the shop right now and there's no cover on the contershaft sprocket so if you could tell me what the shaft looks like on your then maybe we could try to comapre and see

Great company, I have that chain on my LT230 (overkill i know) and my friend with his Banshee is going to get on (roughly 75hp banshee). their products are spendy but very good, Made in the USA, Chicago,IL. Very helpful staff, RK is ok, DID chains are very good, another sprocket that is good is JT. FYI
