We use 10w40 on our '84 200s, and there are no problems.
Try it out, see what happens.

I'm with Sharpie on this one.....make sure you are using a good oil and check your clutch adjustment.

The factory viscosity(sp?) for that trike is 10W-40

what type of oil are you using? i had problems with the clutch slipping when i was using napa brand oil, so i switched to the honda oil, and that pretty well cured my problem. now if it ever slips its when its reel cold and i'm luggin it in a high gear.

sounds like your main jet is clogged..i would take your carb apart..clean all the jets..under no snow ball chance in you know what..don't..and i mean don't drill them out !!!!!..clean them with a piece of small wire or something !..once you have all the jets clean out..and i mean very clean..check to make sure your throttle needle needs to be adjusted ?..over time they will tamper out..which means you have to lower or raise the setting by adjusting the little clip on the throttle needle..hope this works for ya !

the idle problem could be your idle screw on the carb.

Hey everyone i recently picked up a honda 200s. After riding it for a few weeks i noticed that when you are riding in 3rd gear or higher and you give it alot of gas it pretty much just revs out and doesnt go anywhere as if the tranny is slipping or something. It does this all the way to 5th gear and limits me from going fast because i have to ease it to get going faster in these gears. When i am in first and second gear it doesnt seem to do this as much but i have a feeling that this will keep getting worse. What do you think i need to replace to fix this problem. The motor seems to run real strong although it doesnt idle well which seems to be a common problem.

Ive been usuing quaker state 10w 30 4x4 synthetic blend motor oil. So you think it will make that much of a difference switching to honda oil?
