im doin a rebuild om my big red due the the clouds of blue smoke it belches out whenever i run it. i have two questions....for one...i dont know which 200 this is....it is an 84, with high, low and reverse...and the drive shaft comes out the middle of the tranny. the bike has no rear suspention either....does this make it a 200m?.....and when i took this thing apart i expected the piston to be real sloppy in the cylinder.....bu there was virtually no wear on the rings or the piston or the cylinder.....all the internals were blackened with oil soot though....i guessed that maybe it was rebuilt and they never did valves or valve seals, and sent the head out to get it done....if anyone else has an idea it would be great to have some imput.
---also....didnt see any timing marks on the cam, or anywhere else on this thing....if anyone knows where they are...it would be a big help....

honda 200es, when you tore yours down, did you have to take the engine out of the 3 wheeler? i had to, because the valve cover would not clear the frame over the studs..maybe there was something that i didnt see, but im not sure. anyway...it was a damn pain to get the motor out...actually had to cut the mounts off with a hack saw...so ill have to weld it back into the bike when im done(will do a bench run to see if it smokes)....
anyway, thanks for the help...and i dont think ill have any extra parts left over from this thing...hopefully...

dude i would say you have a 200es honda atc 1984. I got the same model and i just finsihed rebuilding one. Now i had to pull it down again due to the smoke i was sent the wrong size rings, but if you have high, low ,reverse yo have a 200es. drive shaft if you have any more ? email me back at cartmans2005@bellsouth.net

nope i did not have to remove the whole engine i just removed the top end i unscrewed the valve caps

I would say u have a big red, 200 m is chain drive with no hilo or reverse. Also, on the cam sprocket, right above one of the bolt holes will be a circle mark. That's the mark youre looking for. Hope this helps.
