Honeing is pritty much roughing the cylinder sleeve so when the sleeve and rings break in they break in together so it seals. You can bring it to your closest shop for that. Its real easy. You could do it your slef if you had one.

did you hone the cylinder when you put in the rings?

if you don't do something to break the glaze on the cylinder, like honing for example, the new rings won't seal properly. honing removes a small amount of material from the cylinder to allow the new rings to seal. you might want to take the cylinder to a shop with a dial bore gauge so they can measure the bore. chances are it may need to be bored and honing won't solve your problem.

you can try this you can hone it yourself...first take the top off again go down to your local auto parts store buy a hone kit tool for a brake cylinder it would work for this size cylinder wall just scuff it up and put it back together put a little I mean just a little transmission fluid in your gas like a two stroke run a tank ful and hopefully it will cure your smoke problem and when finished replace plug. happy riding...let me know how your ride goes

THeres a honeing you can buy from auto zone or orielly auto parts. Its a simple tool with three stones and its has a part where you stick one part onto the one end of a drill.
