Hey Guys -

How much oil do you all run in your forks? My manual says fill to 7" from top of fork. I take this as 7" of air in the forks, and the rest oil... Does this sound correct? It is just that it seems kind of stiff - I haven't ridden it yet this way though.. Front brake master cylinder rebuild is in order for tonite - then riding hopefully this weekend.

One more thing - I'm planning a trip to pismo on the 25th - the first in many years. What is a good ballpark main jet size and needle setting? My bike is mostly stock. How bout' sand gearing? I'm running small turf tamers - No need for paddles for just a yearly trip..

Thanks!

your manuel should have the jet settings dont run 20:1 ratio (32:1 should be a good starting point and check for excessive smoking and fouled plugs) fuel and sacrifice a weekend on the stock gearing. im on the stock gearing and with the paddles i have the front end comes up when i dont want from 1-4th gear. have fun be safe dont get drunk and go swimming.

i BELIEVE the 85's carb settings for stock are 142 main (86 is 145 with a flat slide your's is a round slide) 3rd/middle clip position dont know slow jet number.
