What is different between the 85 and 86 350x`s? I have a 86. I know the plastic is white instead of red. Is there any other mechanical differences?

I know that the sprocket sizes are different as well. Other than that there are a few little things that are different. I'll have to go check my book at home and get back to you on it.

I know the colors are different and the 85 came with a 13 tooth sprocket and the 86 came with a 14 tooth sprocket. I believe there is something different with the axle carrier as well because there are two sections in my repair manual and it gives different instructions for the different year models(I don't know the exact difference.) I thought the engines were identical but some people think the 86 engine is better than the 85 but I have an 86 on my 85 frame and it is not quite as powerful as the 85 engine was. Hope this helps and I will look at my repair manual to see if I can find any more differences.

The clutch cables are routed diferently also.
