Hi,
A couple of weeks ago my daughter's atv started to have some problems, The motor started fine but it had difficulty to move. So i tried to adjust the clutch, though it did a tiny improvement the problem was still there. So i figured it was time to change the clutch since we used the ATV for 2 years without major problem. I ordered a new clutch and special socket to take it apart. To my surprise when i removed the cover i found out that the tip of the crank shaft was broken ( twisted). Now is it better to change the crank assembly or buy a new whole motor. How difficult it is to split the cases ? Any place to buy reasonable priced parts ? Is the Honda atc 110 crank assembly compatible with the Red cat ?
Thanks

redcatmotors has the crankshaft in stock at $40.99 part no. 100757 plus don't for get all the gaskets, head, cylinder, center crankcase, right crankcase, valve cover, left cover, while you at it might as well put a new cylinder ($13.99) piston ($26.99) and rings (?) or you could purchase the whole engine at $347.00 ,you can contact redcatmotors at 602 256-2282, this should take somewhere around 4-8 hours to complete depending on your ability.

if i had a bad crankshaft on a kids chinese atv, i think i would just buy the e-bay engine for the $169 and be done with it, takes about an hour to replace one of these engines,

Usually, you ask the sellers' where to get the right spare parts. If imported from China, they will send you the spare parts I think. But maybe will charge you the air freight.
