I use torco gp7 in all my 2-strokes at 40:1.

Don't worry about mixing oil....it will still run (for a few minutes Have a Happy New Year and God Bless. SEAPUP

in a kid quad i would mix it 50:1

Definitely don't mix 5W-30 with it. It won't provide positive results

how much oil do you put in a gallon of gas for a 2 stroke motor

Posted by: wwjdjc

does it matter what ratio i run

Posted by: wwjdjc

how do i find the ratio the factory recomends

thxs for all your help

KLOTZ R50 2 stroke oil mixed at 40:1 for engines 250cc and above......mix at 32:1 for under 250cc engines.

i run the KLOTZ at 32:1 in my 250 .. i could run it at 40:1 but i i like the idea of more oil than less. i allways even give it a little extra splash in everything from chain saws to outboard motors.i get more life out of my engines than anyone, i must be doing something rite. maybe i am just wasting oil ? but it's doing fine .

if i was racing i would run in my bike 40 or 50:1 but i am not

just dont be using no 2 stroke oil from a gas station or kmart or whatever., get dirt bike stuff at a dirt bike store. KLOTZ, or MAXIMA ,, or something good and expensive . the engine and spark plug will thank you.

I like 40:1 mixture.1 gallon gas=3.2oz oil or 5 gallon gas=16 oz oil

there is probably a ratio that the factory recomends for your bike.Just remember that the smaller the first number is in your ratio the more oil there is.For example:40:1 ratio has more oil mixed than 50:1 ratio. Two strokes need this oil mixed in the gas for lubrication just like 4 strokes are oiled from the crankase oil.So the more oil in your ratio gives your engine more protection from blowing up.But to much oil might cause your 4-wheeler to run bad or might foul spark plugs.the ratio 32:1 is a real safe ratio.you might try it and if you 4-wheeler dont run good you might go down to 40:1.Ratio 32:1 is 1gallon=4oz oil

call a dealership that sales your atv.the service department should be able to tell you

Posted by: QWODER

yea these guys are right.Dont use wal-mart 2stroke oil.I use klotz.Your atv dealerships may carry some good brands too.better brands are klotz,mc1,castor927 and probably a few more but I cant think of them right now.

I like 32:1, because i'd rather replace a plug a little more often than to have to rebuild a top end.....

Sorry, that is 4 oz of Quality oil (Valvoline or the like, not Home Depot brand), to 1 gallon of gas.

I too would recommend 32:1 using a good quality synthetic mixing oil. Once you start a curtain brand, try to stick with it. Not good to be changing oils all the time.
