It's located under the seat, right of the battery. It should have an adjustment, 1-4.(just replaced the on my son's '05)

I suppose it's possible that it's in a different location. On my '05 the cdi is about the size of a credit card and 1/2"to 5/8" thick. It's "jammed" tightly down by the battery on the right side. It's black like the battery so it's not hard to miss. It can be hard to spot if you don't know exactly where to look. Are you having problems or just need to adjust the cdi? I've recently had a battle with my own but it's doing okay at the moment.

I have a viper 90R, if you have a another model the cdi may be located somewhere else. Look under the plastic, find the wiring harness, follow it. It must go to the cdi. Good luck.

This has probably already been coverd but I am unadble to find the answer.
I have a 2005 Eton 90. Where is the CDI box located? and does it have the one that has the adjuster on it?
Any help would be greatful.

When I look under the seat all there is is the battery and no CDI box. Do I have to remove any of the plastics to get to it?
Thank you,

I just want to adjust it. I may have just missed it when I looked last night. I will look again.

I just looked and there is nothing next to the battery. It is an 05 90 eton, so I am wondeing where the cdi can be?

Mine is just a 90 not a 90r. So I will look under the plastics for it.
Thank you for your help.

GMoney69,
Thank you. Is there any other inexpensive way to get a little more power?
Thank you very much.

It is under the front grill below the night rider looking light on the steering column. Here is a link if your are interested at the proposed speed gains.
Eton Viper 90 CDI and tech link
I did not notice too much difference on my daughters quad. My other daughter has an 04 viper and I needed to loop a green wire to bypass the cdi but yours should have a dial.
Good Luck

As far as add on parts I am not sure. I do know that if you ride in a dusty area I would recommend cleaning the air filter regularly. I neglected my daughter's for 5-10 rides and she said it was sluggish and slow and this was confirmed by her friends. I cleaned the air filter and she was smiling ear to ear for the rest of the day...Man, what a difference that made.
That same link has some mod parts
After market ETON parts
I am not an expert in this area but an after market air filter and possibly and exhaust. I heard a lot of complaints about the quality of the air filter but if you maintain it and keep it clean it seems to go alright.
Make sure you put some of that gas stabilizer in your ATV gas cans. Just had my quad and the 2 etons go to the shop to get the carbs completely cleaned. They sat with bad in the for about a month and that was that. They would not start or anything!

The after market headlights were a nice add on. No more racing home to beat the sunset with the kids
