If you want a competition quad, the suzuki probably isn't it. But, there is alot you can do to that suzuki for free and they are tough. I haven't spent a dime and have about doubled the power on ours. Do a thread search on mods for an LT50 and you will find alot of info. There are restrictors all over that thing. I removed the exhaust one and the one in the intake. Removed the piggyback jet and moved the needle up one notch. Drilled a couple of extra holes in the airbox lid and readjusted the carb. It moves me around really good now and I am knockin' on 300#'s door. Look at other threads for details and what others have to say.

Jack, aka LT80 will know for sure, but I think they are the same as far as engine goes. Seems that there is a restrictor plate inside the intake path somewhere. Pry that out with a flat screwdriver. The exhaust probably has a restictor washer at the cylinder/pipe joint. Also pull the slider cap off the carb and check for a little plastic or brass barrel bushing above the carb slide...get rid of it. Again Jack would know, but there is a Kasea Mighty-mite performance pipe on eBay right now that I believe will work on LT50/KFX50. Cut and paste this to your browser. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1999-KASEA-MIGHTY-MITE-50-ATV-CHROME-EXHAUST-SYSTEM_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ43978QQihZ018QQitemZ280023134219QQrdZ1
Hope this helps but word of advise. You'll spend a fortune more in mods than a new DRX 50 costs new and never get much performance from the Suzuki. Get rid of it and get a full frame mini like the DRR, Kasea, or other such. I know those pretty well and can help you figure out anything you will need to make'em go. Hope this helps.
