Hi mfh432, did it seperate at the clip or did the ball join come apart? I have noticed that the ball joints dont come with grease in them from the factory. It probubly wouldnt be that great of a grease if they did, but it would be better than nothing.

Thats pretty scary. I had heard of a few problems with ball joints on some of the earlier models but I thought it was taken care of. I hope he wasnt hurt as it came apart. If you can get some pics up I would like to see the them. You can email john at Raceway at jvvvvvv@aol.com. He is usually right on top of that stuff.

What year is your Jetmotto?

Posted by: SEADAWG

Sir,
Keep us posted on this model and these Jetmotto's. They have been hailed as great quality ...the next step up from the previous (various brands) Chinese quads. It seems these can't take the punishment. I spent 2/3 hours on a TRX 90 playing...I'm 6'2", 238lbs and it had no issues period. Seems like the Chinese can't even make a 250 that can handle me. I wonder who are the engineers for these things or if they get feedback. Or do they care? SEADAWG

My son has blown both lower ball joints on his JetMoto 200 ATV. One pulled apart tonight and the other is loose. Looking online at parts I can't seem to find just the ball joint. Do I have to buy the lower A arm assembly?

Thanks

Mike

I assume it is a 2006. Bought it this year. From what I can see there appears to be a spring clip holding the cup for the ball in the A-arm. Did not take a lot of time with it last night when it occured. Will take a more detailed look at it today.

If I can find time I will give the Racyway guys a call. Most of my days are spent on the phone (on a conference call now) and it is much easier for me to trade emails.

Thanks

Mike

The ball came out of the socket. He has been greasing it fairly frequently. He burned up bearings (ordered the same bearings you did I found in another of your threads) and brakes (made them from a car pad that was close working fine) a few months back and has been much better caring for it. Per your advise (Thanks!) I made him pay for all the parts which he did not care for. We took a few pics last night. I will try to get my wife to send me one that I can attach or will get that done tonight if more detail is needed. Good news is he shutdown right away and does not look like he did any further damage.

Thanks

Mike

I don't seem to be able to attach the picture to this thread. Do I have to setup a page and put the pic there with a link here or is there a way to paste the picture in here. Sorry for the trouble.

Thanks

Mike

OK. I got the picture posted (Thanks for the help) and also appreciate all the comments here. As far as quality from my perspective all the damage so far is from hard riding and lack of maintenance. He is getting better but he likes riding a lot more than he likes taking care of it. His bike has been abused in a similar manner and it was a very expensive trick bike that we got a great deal on. I think the Jetmoto is holding up well for the investment. I am hoping I don't have to buy the entire A-arm here.

Thanks again!

Mike

Raceway Staff,

Any chance you can just tell me the part & price I need online or via email? I just tried to call (another busy day here) and was told the parts department is closed. I sent an email to you last night as well.

Thanks

Mike

WOW! BR>
Just got through to the folks at Racway and they are sending me a new ball joint under warranty at no charge. Those guys are great when you get through. Makes it tough for those of us that spend as much time on the phone everyday as they do. Thanks for all the helpful suggestions and support.

Quick update. Fixed the ball joint long ago and so far no other major issues. The JetMoto seems to be holding up well. My son and his friends seem to use it as the "test" ATV. If it makes it through the other boys will follow with theirs. I am happy with the investment.

I guess I spoke too soon. I have attached a photo of this weekends incident. My son said he was just turning into his buddies driveway and the ball joint popped out. I have not made it over to pick it up yet but will try to make it there this week. Will be calling RaceWay to check on a replacement.

Thanks
