Do you mean the starter or starter solinoid. If it is the starter then you have to remove the cover on the left side of the motor. This is the stater. You will see a chain on the starter gear. Now from the other side you have to remove 3 starter bolts. Pull slightly on the starter to get it loose then tilt up to get slack in the chain. Once you have slack in the chain pull the chain off of the gear then you can pull the starter out. It is really easy. Then just do the reverse to install it.

Then it sounds like a shear pin came off or the piston rod broke.

Most of them are chain drive starters. Old Honda design.

Hi. New to the forum. Got my grandson a Kuzuma 110 and have run into my first problem. The starter clutch went on it. The folks at Raceway have been great and are sending the new parts. That being said they have no instruction available. Is there anyone out there that has replaced one and can give me a little guidance. Thanks

The chain spins both gears but does not engage the motor

The bottom gear is not engaging the shaft. I can turn the flywheel and feel the compression stroke. I'm pretty sure it has to do with how the gear engages the crank but thanks for trying to jeer me up. (just kidding) I guess I'll have to stumble through it when I get the parts. I'll post after with instructions. Might take some photos and make them available.

Ok. I removed the flywheel from the side the ATV today. (you will need a puller)
On the back of the flywheel is attached the clutch. This consist of a unit than contains three bearings. The clutch fits over a sealed bearing that remains on the shaft. The bearing that remains on the shaft is attached to the bottom sprocket. This sprocket is turned by the starter chain. The bearing that are in the clutch were froze up thus not allowing them to engage the sealed bearing which would have turned the motor over.
Parts are on the way. Chain drive starter who would have thunk. 1MG
