Leave it alone. It works well on doing what it is intended for.
Most don't like the stock air box cuz it's hard to remove. It's not really hard, ppl just need to learn not to turn, twist, bend and swear at it.BR>It slips right out the left side with a thumb and index finger.

Restrictive?? Nah, My motors rev 11.5-12k with the air box stock.

I have seen it removed before, but like LT80 said it works well and serves a purpose. Its also part of the cooling system for the motor and most importantly it keeps the dirt out. When you hang the filer out in the open its susceptible to getting junk in the carb. If you hit the track after they just watered those front tires throw back so much dirt/mud the air filer would be covered in just a lap or two.

I was just wondering if any of you LT80 owners have tried eliminating the bulky stock black plastic intake that houses the air filter? I was just figuring you could add a K&N and an Outerwears pre-filter.
Let me hear your thoughts.
thanks,
Kelly
