I use 1" round aluminum and drill a hole in it. The hard part is getting them exact in length.
I knock out the stock studs and put long bolts thru.

HEY, that's a good idea!! Wonder where you heard that.BR>

I have seen several posts talking about making wheel spacers but can't find any info on HOW to make them.
I have a 2000 Eton 50 that I would like to make just a few inches wider. I can't find any kits online for this model and no cross reference guids.
thanks.

If you are looking for a spacer all you need is one with 4X110 bolt pattern. This is a very common size rear pattern for alot of mini's and full size sport atv's such as Honda EX and Suzuki, kawi just to name a few.Any of the mini atv racing guys should have them such as Hetrick's,WRH racing,Koolkidz etc.

I know they make stud extenders, which add 1 or 2 inches, but im not sure id use them on a full size quad...especially if it were a 4x4. The 1" rod with a hole is probably ok on the fronts of a 2x4, and some people just use washers. As long as it goes together tight, and stays tight, its no bettter or worse than the full spacers.
You might be better off, starting with 1" thick aluminum bar stock, cutting off what you need, and adding a hole. Then at least the thickness of all 4 would be the same, with in .001".

Totally different. Your idea was for 1" round stock, saw cut to length. Which can be very difficult to get all 4 the same thickness on the mounting surfaces.
Im thinking of flat stock, which is 1 inch thick, and just saw cutting the the sides,( which mean nothing,) leaving the mounting faces as stock, which wont vary by more than a thou. This way they can be made with out any special tools, other than a drill motor , drill bit, and hack saw,,,and still be totally accurate where it counts.
Ill admit its similar, but the results arent.

No biggie, Your method will leave a better looking spacer, but the flat stock doesnt require much skill, to produce an accurate spacer...but might look a bit shabby.

Is this suitable for a full sized quad as well?
