Okay, the hoses at the top and bottom of the carb is vent (top) and a drain (bottom)
the hose in the center of the cases is your crankcase vent.

Typically there is not a restrictor in the carb. You'll prolly want to yank the piggybacked pilot jet out, I found that to help. The stock pipes on those little beasts get "plugged", a cup or so of fuel and some ball bearings can get that cleaned up.

These little machines can haul the mail. here is a picture of the one my 6 year old has been racing

here is another without the chitlins on it

premix it. You have a less likely chance of squeaking the engine if the oil pump failed.

I bought a new carb from worldofpowersports.com for about $80. not sure what you money to time ratio is but if I have to tinker around with it for more than a few hours......$80 is a bargain. The intake restictor is between the intake elbow and the cylinder. Remove the elbow and heat it up a bit with a propane torch. Stick a beefy screwdriver in the slot and twist. It'll pop right out. It looks like a coin slot. I also raised the needle at the end of the throttle cable one notch. Warmed her up and dialed the carb in.

I've been there widerides. We don't race ours but we got it used and have had a few issues. That was one of them. It's a fun quad though. The whole family loves to ride that thing. I weigh about 280# and I jump it. It's solid.

I bought an 86 suzuki lt 50 for $20. The last owner rode it into a pond and it stopped running right then stopped running. When I got it all the hoses were dissconnected. I hooked a funnel to the gas line and poured some of my leaf blower gas in it and got it going. It runs real sluggish.

I've been reading a lot of posts on how to upgrade the LTA 50 but what about my old one? I'm going to rebuild the carb b/c I'm sure it needs it and was woundering about all these carb mods yall are doing on your LTA-50s, will these work for me? Does mine have an intake restrictor? I checked the exhaust and it doesn't have a restrictor at the jug.

My carb has a place for a small hose on the bottom and top, what are these for? There is also a hose in the middle of the crank case, whats this? I have pictures if you want me to email them to you.

I need help bad.

Thanks : )

I cleaned out the carburator out some and I took out what I thought was the jet. Little brass thing screwed into a tube with another one on the bottom. It runs a lot better then it did but it's still not fixed. The tube connecting the carb to the jug has a thing in it with a slot for the air/gas mix to enter, should I take this out? I went to a local atv shop and the guy told me to not use premix oil and to just use the tank on the back. He was suppose to call me awhile back on a rebuild kit for the carb or a new one but he never called me so I was woundering if yall know of a good place to buy either. Besides ebay.

Thanks

Thanks for the info but I already have done everything to it and it runs great now, I cleaned out the carb and took out the restrictor thing. I don't race mine either but it's fun to ride around the yard.
