Did you have the carburetor apart?Sounds like you may have put the slide back in backwards or got the cable hung up somehow(does turning the handlebars affect it?).Does the throttle seem to operate smoothly?

What was wrong with it that it stuck on full throttle. NEEDS fixed. As for the other problem I'm kinda with old yeller. May have the float stuck or the seat is cloggged or the fuel filter may be. If you pull the plug and it's really grey on the tip or light tan it's probably starvin for fuel like it has a stuck closed float/seat clogged fuel line/filter. Otherwise if its wet or really dark you may have a stuck choke in the on position. I hate to say it but I've seen a post where the bike was kinda low on fuel. Or it may be electrical???? Good luck.

I was troubleshooting a throttle response problem when I found a loose ground wire to the coil. After cleaning up the contact and putting connection back on, the bike attacked me when I started it up. BR>I was standing in front of the bike when starting it, and it charged at me...Full Throttle! After picking my self up off my compressor, and pinned up against the cupboards, I realized that was a Stupid place to be and laughed it off....but now I have a new problem.
The bike starts up perfect, but can be riden down the street without applying the throttle. the bike surges for a few seconds at 'full throttle' speed, the coasts for a few more seconds. It then repeats that over and over. If I apply the throttle, I get no response. If I apply full throttle the motor dies.
Any idea on what this may be? I checked the rest of the connections and all seem ok. BR>
Thanks in advance!

oldyeller hit it on the nose. I did clean the carb out 20 minutes prior. I didnt think the slot on the slide would go in where the spring was exposed. ( If thast makes any sense! ) Well, I tunred the slide around and now thanks to a clean carb, the bike runs great. And lesson learned.....I refused to start the bike while standing in front of it. BR>Thanks all.
