A good carb cleaning is in order.

I suspect a plugged pilot jet, but a good cleaning may find something else also.BR>We need to start there.
Ball-o-fire. LOL BR>Check the spark plug cap. They suck!

hey yall i was asked to fix an LT 80 by a friend. i fixed an exhuast manifold leak on it and since it hasent been run in a long time its not being very cooperative. i cleaned the air filter (total mess) the thing will turn over but it will only kinda sputter for a second and then nothing at all. i pull the plug out and its totally covered in gas, the thing is it ran when it was parked last year, but not now. hey what do yall think
thanks,
kyle

really i thought that since the plug was wet fouling that the carb was fine, but ill give it a try any ways these little carbs are picky.
also would that cause it just to back fire really bad when its turning over. it on ly backfires like every 45 seconds but when it does it shoots a flamming ball of fire.
thanks

well i got it running after cleaning the carb and cleaning the spark plug but now it doesnt want to rev very high. it seems like it just bogs right down when it even starts to get into the higher RPMs a guy that came buy the farm said he thought it was the float set too high or something what do yall think
thanks

well i just thought id tell you all i got it running right. its pretty slow but it feels likt its using its full powerband now. it was the seat the holds the needle in the slide in the carb, well the cir clip was ontop of the seat thing insted of under so the needle was way high out of the jet so it was running uber rich. well thanks for the help guys
