I found the easiest way was to remove the nose cone(two screws and a couple of plastic tabs).reach in on the right side (as you face the bike) and there is a black box held by a rubber holder.Slip the box out of the rubber holder and you can pull it out towards you.Look on the backside and you will see the famous green wire coming out and going back in.Simply snip it in half and tape the ends.Replace everything and your done.

Its on the backside of the cdi box.It doesn't plug in with the other wires it just comes out of the back of the box and goes back in.Just snip it in half.

I wish I had radared our 90 before and after to see how much difference it made.Maybe someday I will hook it back up and test it.I think it makes a much bigger difference on the 50s.

My son has a 2004 Viper 90. I think it's time to cut this green CDI wire I have heard about but where's the CDI located? I searched the forum and couldn't find out where it's located. If you have the instructions, please reply. My son will be ever so thankful!

It seems to help more on the bottom end to mid range. Might have more top end but couldn't see a big difference

on my 04 e-ton viper i found no green wire only 5 colered wires each with a stip.black box on right with ruber strap?where is my green wire thanks.

thank younever thought to remove the box from the rubber casing.how much improvement will this do?my son is 6 (85lbs) and handles the stock power with ease.any more sugestions for more power.thanks again
