Trust me! You don't want a twist throttle for a little kid on a mini quad. Very unsafe. Think about it, a little kid has to hold on very tight to ride hard. Very hard to do both hold on and twist, and jurk a quad around alot harder than a bike. Second of all when they are going up a hill or they get way back on the seat it will have a tendency to pull on the throttle . This is just my 2 cents worth. The thumb throttle was put their for a reason.

Not too sure where you can purchase a Skid Plate for a Pred-50 unit. You may have to make your own skid plate.

To replace the Stock Guard, you may want to try your local Polaris Dealers or Partsland - PartsLand - Note: You may have to contact Partsland to inquire if they sell parts for the Pred-50.

Hope this helps...

A COMPLETE twist throttle and a REAL skid plate for the Predator 50? The stock "guard" was broken off in hours, leaving the sprocket exposed. ....

Thanx for the responses. The two girls who ride this quad have quite a few hours under their belts now & I doubt it would be a safety issue. We ride on the mountain a lot and on any sort of "longer" ride, they have trouble with thumb fatigue. Due to the fact I'd have to change out the brake perch I may not do this now.

I definetely want to try it for myself on my quad though as I've always been a bike guy for years and I think I'd prefer it.....

as far as the twist throttle you can get an lem motorcycle twist or a kawisaki or suzuki for that matter but you might have to be creative to make the cable work, imo i would not put a twist on a quad especially for a kid
