The kick start is just supposed to be for backup if the electric fails.

Yes you are supposed to put it away after kickstarting the bike. My husband kick started my daughter's bike and failed to put it away...it fell off somewhere in the desert. Men!!!

what i did was, buy a old type kick start with the compression bolt in it. grind a place in the shaft that the kick start goes on for the bolt to go through and then bolt it on.

Just got a new 2005 viper 90. The kick start handle is stored under the seat. It fits on a small spindle on the left of the ATV . My question is when I put the kick start on, there is nothing to hold it in place. It would back off during riding and fall right off if I kept it on. This can't be the way it is designed...or am I supposed to put kick start away after every time I use it?...that doesn't make sense.

Yeah you retards can go ahead and kick your brains out while i just push a button. Actualy my little brother likes to flood his quad a lot and when it doesn't start i usualy have to kick start it to get it working.
