Welcome to the forums.
Not my specialty, but here are some basics.
Yes check the brake lever switch, handlebar switch, any switch that has something to do with start/stop of the motor.
check the spark plug and the spark plug wire where it goes into the cdi and the spark plug boot.
After making sure of the continuity of all the switchs, I'd pull the flywheel and sand it and the stator. Sometimes rust can do this.
You should have spark by now. if still no go, I'd look toward carburator and compression.
Let us know how you make out please

The tether switch is a good place to suspect? Any way to bypass it?
Check for spark. Pull the spark plug, put it in the wire, and ground the body of it to the head. Then spin it over and look for spark.

Look at the connectors and pull them apart, look for corrosion. Put dielectric grease in them, and put them back together. Look for broken or chewed thru wires. If all looks good, youll need a wiring diagram to troubleshoot.
Try swaping out the regulator, its #7 in this diagram.

Also look at 12 and 13, its a jumper, it may be missing or partially in.

Check your main fuse. There is a white cylindricle plastic piece that is wired into the battery positive cable. Open it and check the fuse.
#12 is a jumper that polaris connects to the CDI box to act as the rev limiter. Removing it would make the quad faster.

sounds like a faulty keyed ignition switch. you could swap the one with the bike that works
and see what happens. it will probably fire up. if it doesnt let us know.

I need some suggestions. My son has a scrambler 90 that doesn't start. We put it away last year and everything was fine, and now it won't start.

I believe it has to be something in the electrical/iginition because it doesn't crank and the tail light doesn't come on. My other son has an identical Scrambler which starts so I swapped out the battery, the fuse/relay under the seat, and the one still starts and the other doesn't.

Where should I start first. I checked the small 5 amp fuse off of the battery and it is fine. Should I start with the brake lever that must be engaged in order to start? It seems like a logical place since the taillight doesn't come on when I engage that brake. I had checked the taillight bulb and that is fine. Is there another fuse somewhere or some other simple explanation? Could it be something to do with safety tether and its fuse?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I was hoping that someone would tell me about a little fuse located xxx that could have blown xxx. Anyway, I have no power at all. Ignition switch on, tether plugged in, brake lever pulled in, kill switch to on, and no power to the starter, and no power to the rear taillight. Nothing.

I'm going to start checking the connections to see if a critter didn't chew through something. Also, I'm going to try and bypass the tether after that since that seems to be the first place to start. Next would probably be somehting at the ignition or the brake lever.

Again, this machine and an identical one went into the shed in December without any probelms. The one started right up, and this one has nothing.

If anyone else has any suggestions, they are more then welecomed BR>
Thanks
