I only use stock LT80 belts.
For the eton there are others, I'm others can help you more in that area.

For what it's worth~~ For TT racing (top speed) I use the most wore out belt I have in the garage!
I'm curious about the parts problem, unless a part is backordered, (only twice now), I order on Tuesday and get it on Thursday/Friday at the latest. My dealer is a small hole in the wall, so no big dealer push at all.
The only difference I can see is that most dealerships don't care about mini's and the ppl (you) ordering the parts. These ppl I deal with know I need stuff with no BS.

Looking for belts for an E-ton 90 and an LT80. Are the factory belts my only choice or are there better aftermarket belts?

Jack I'll trade you my old belt for a new one anytime.lol Warren,it smells fishy in here, lol. I'm not sure of the quality of the eton belt plus I like to keep a spare around anyway. If there is a better quality belt I'd rather run that. On the LT80 I'm just gonna replace for age and maintenance sake.

I have not inquired about the price yet. I was hoping to find an aftermarket supplier first.

Our 93 LT80 has the stock belt and it squals when the kids nail the gas hard. I know that with most varible speed belts the sides wear and make the varible part not work as well. Ours in getting rough on the edges. My biggest problem is getting factory parts. There is not a Suzuki dealer within a hundred miles that have parts for the LT's. Right now Suzuki is really slow on shipping parts, for everthing not just the LT's. I have had a new belt on order for about 2 1/2 weeks now and still no word when Suzuki will ship any. I had to wait 5 weeks to get the clutch rollers so I figured the dumb belt would probably take as long. Most aftermarket parts I can get in a couple of days or so.
I don't know if it has anything to do with it, but lately our LT tries to creep when idling. Could the belt being worn have caused something to change in this thing? I was hoping to check it all when I replaced the belt, but I may not be able to wait that long.

Thanks

I picked up our new belt last night. $22.00 plus tax. It took right at 3 1/2 weeks to get it. Right now it is not just the mini parts that are hard to get from Suzuki. And all the parts people I've called within 150 miles have all told me the same thing. (long wait) I even was told by one dealer that the word he got was that the Kawasaki / Suzuki merge was going to do away with one brand. And it looked as if Suzuki was going to be the one to go because of lack of parts in dealers parts dept. And how hard it is to get parts in to the dealers.
On a brighter note, the belt took care of our slippage. Our old belt was worn enough that it was bottoming out on the front clutch and causing it to slip. LT80, you can probably get by with a modded clutch runing a worn belt. But what you gain with the belt running lower in the rear clutch you have to change the spacers in the front don't you? I mean, they way ours is, the belt will run so low in the front clutch it doesn't get a good bite on the sides because its hitting on the cogs on the bottom. Now if I were to change the spacers or washers in the front clutch and make it closer together, then I could get away with it.

Funny fishslab, you keep following me like a bad odor, like a fishslab odor. img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0"> LOL, just kidding buddy. Seriously, I was thinking the exact same thing about our 93 LT80..... whether I might need a new belt. How do you check them? I was wondering if a stretched belt might be my reason for lack of top end speed? Why are you doing belt on the Eton? That one should be good for a long time shouldn't it? Actually, what problems are you having with the LT80 belt? And how much does dealer want for one?

you see I'm back to bombardier-ing you with too many Q's again. How much does Suzuki want for a belt?

yer up kinda late! just checked the website for OEM parts via the google search link. They're $23.70 US/ i think that's around $100 Canuck. LOL. That site is usually based on regular retail dealer pricing. so that's relatively cheap.

fishslab, it wasn't paying for all the toys that kept me up late, it was wondering how I'll make the truck and mortgage payments.$$ for toys is never a problem. good news is, my wife has already spent all that $$, so now I have nothing to worry about!
