Sportsman weighs a bit more, has more plastics to brake in a rollover and a higher center of gravity. It also has narrower rear tires so it might be a little less stable but not sure hom much less.
I really love the way boththese bikes look just like there big brothers and I think it would be wise to get your kids input, after all they will be riding it.
The pred has threaded holes in the grab bar that I don't think would be real hard to come up with a cooler rack for

We got the Sportsman for my daughter for Christmas last year, we knew she wasnt gonna be racing it, so it wasnt a matter of which looked faster...we picked it because of the full floor boards... She would have been happy with anyone of them.. I'm not sure which she would have picked if she had a choice but I know she really likes the one she got...

Most people go with the Pred-90 if racing. If both bikes will satisfy your "general trail" needs, then let your "young rider" pick. After all, he/she will be the one riding it. For a long time my kid wanted yellow. Didn't care what brand - as long a it was yellow. When the Pred-90 and SP-90 was sitting side by side int he same showroom, my son immediately picked the Pred-90. If my son is going to be the principle driver, then he picks it (of the 3 that I had my list narrowed down to).
Hope this helps....

We just picked up a 04 predator 90 for my sons 9,7. They picked it over the sportsman because it "looked cooler Dad". My dealer said the only difference was the plastic and the tires. The frame and engine and suspension are the same if you look at them.

should i buy my kids the sportsman or predator? pros and cons i like the ability that they can carry a cooler or tackle box on the sportsman plus i think they have the same suspention.. so i dont think jumping the sportsman will hurt it. or should i just let the kids pick? thanks scott
