We have the predator 90 and it is a tough little bike. It has great suspension, auto tranny, and it can haul some butt...trust me on that. The only thing about the predator that i wish it did have would be a foot brake. Another user has come up with what looks to be a great afternarket footbrake. I am waiting for it to hit the market.

I really like the idea of the Viper 90 having reverse, Kasea (LRX) and they are also great bikes from what I hear. All the quads you mention are great bikes. I say pick 2 bikes that you like and then let the little make the final choice.

GOODLUCK!!

We live on the east coast and let me tell you right now....We have no deserts here. Just some hard arse, rocky trails and the predator can take alot more than 20 hours of a good beating. Spike can attest to how well they hold up on a tough wilderness loggin type trails.

This quad has treated us well and will hold up...no doubt.

Parts are not an issue. You can get just about anything you need from this and other forums. I know the Kasea is made by SMC they also sell they LRX which is a clone of the Kasea in different plastic. The thing that is great about the Kasea is it has the foot brake. That is the only difference I know of....and I am in no way an expert. I personally like the suspension of the predator the best. Suzuki is a tough ass quad and quick out the box, but Suzuki needs to step up their game and get it up to par with the so called "OFF BRANDS" because the public is going for these bikes.

I am sure your kid will love which ever one you choose. Take the lil'1 for a trip and let him/her sit on a few.

We also have a pred 90 and it has been an awsome bike!!! I truely have no complaints.

All the quads you have listed are really good. I would stick with the 2 stroke just for the power advantage. The only ones that interchange are the LT andKFX. Exactally the same bike. I really like the reverse in the Eton and if it would have been out a few months earlier I probably would have gotten that one.

One thing is for sure though, and that is that ergonomics are different for all of them, take your daughter and let her sit on them and try them out to see which one fits her best

In the Mini Market the E-Ton and Kasea are not really off brands, they are leaders in there fields and will hold there own with anything out there in that class.

Personnaly I like the Polaris and yes we do many long rides in the desert and sand dunes and it has never left us stranded!! We did have to tow it back once but it was because we threw so much snow on the front end it froze the throttle cable!!

My 6 yr old boy runs in the East coast offroad XC series. His sponser and I have built him an AC 50.This has been one tuff quad. Michael takes no mercy on his quads. He holds it pinned thru some of the rockiest woods you could think of.When he comes thru some of these places I would like to close my eyes, expecting the A-arms to fly off the quad. But the little thing is built really tuff. he jumps whoops like there nothing just bouncing all over. The AC is the same quad as the DRR. And If you look at the DRR's in the Nationals they really do well.I am very glad I bought this quad for him.It is a little heavy at 218 lbs. But I have striped some weight off it and have got it down to 201 lbs.He races Etons Kasea's other AC's and some Polaris's and even Alpha Sports. Only to have been beaten once. And that was his very first race with a stone stock bike with a 50 tooth rear sprocket and a rev limiter on it. And he still come in 3rd.I myself like the 2 stroke power myself over the 4-stroke's. Now about the Preditor 90. My buddy's son races a Pred.90.He has never been beaten on this quad.It is stone stock. This little quad will flat out FLY! When we move up to the 90 class We will build a Pred 90. I think this quad is the best out of the box.I've seen alot of mini quads with very good riders on them and they can't touch this boy on this Pred.We just had a race yesterday. There were 16 riders in the 90 class and the Pred 90 took 1,2,3.there were Etons, Honda TRX's Polaris,AC, Bomb's,Alpha sports, the top 2 boys laped the field twice. There were 6 riders in the 50 class with my son and he laped 2nd place 2 laps and 3rd on back 3 laps!So the Ac can run with the best of them also.

We take our 04 Viper on long trail rides and race it as well.It is completely stock and has never let us down.As stated I really don't consider this an off brand even though some of the other dealers may try to tell you this.Look them all over and compare features. The Viper is loaded with goodies but pick the bike with the features that you think will be important to you and your style of riding. A good knowledgable dealer is also very important.

Rscoyote,

When our Pred-90 isn't unavailable "for structure & performance upgrades", we often do the 20 mile trail rides. Sometimes we start at 9:00 AM and drive until 12:00, stop of lunch, then make our way back. My 9 year old is 120 lbs (130 with his complete gear on) and we drive his until through sand pits, up hills, gravel, dirt paths, etc. etc. The main reason we went for the Pred-90 was because of its deep suspension. During our trail rides, we had to pull a TRX-70 back twice and a TRX-90 back once. Yes, even good old Hondas can only take so much beating on our many trails. I'm sure the E-Ton, Kasea and other 2 stroke minis can endure the same beatings with no problems as well. Note: For rapid change of ground speed, sand the at times needing the extra bottom zip, try to stay with a 2 strokes. CVT / auto transmissions also reduce rider fatique on long trail rides.

From my experience, my son's physical and mental fatigue starts to be noticeable around 1.5 - 2 hour mark. Luckily, we bring lots of snacks, take lots of rest breaks and spend lots of time chatting about "father / son" stuff at our many rest stops. Once, we went for a medium quad run and took our fishing poles. Best catch & release memory I've had with my son. If your son also loves beating his unit down the trail, ensure he takes lots of rest stops too...

Hope this helps...

My 6 yr old daughter has been riding her AC90 for about 4 months now. We ride almost every weekend, 15+ miles over rock riverbeds. The only problem has been bending the chain guard on the rocks. It is the 4 stroke. The CVT is great, no missing gears and she has one less thing to worry about. I still have not taken the cluch or carb restrictors out. But even with those in and the with the throttle limiter set to the lowest, the bike will pull my 180lb butt up an rocky hill i've tried.
I do have two complaints. The front brakes are two cable drums, and are hard for my daughter to pull. And second is that it is red stickered and not green. I've not ridden the 2 stoke.. but since both are red stickered, I probably should have gotten the 2 stroke for the extra power. But so far my daughter hasn't needed it.

Hope this helps.

If the E-Ton 90 is anything like the 50 then it is a great bike. My 8 yo has a Viper 50 and it hauls prett good ( My boy is also small but makes up for it in grit) So far I have cliped the green wire on the cdi put pred 90 front a arms (wider) rear whell spacers and hole shot tires on the back. I like the E-Ton because the 2003 50 and 90 are pretty much the same bike dif eng size and tires great susp. I don't know about the new 2004 70 but sounds nice.

dont count the e-ton 90R out just because it wasnt there on the day. Theyre awesome

Eton Kasea Artic Cat Polaris KFX LT....HELP???

The one question I would really like answered is which brand names interchange 100% in the 80-90cc class quads? Like the Suzuki LTZ 400 and Kawasaki KFX400 are the same quad.

I have been shopping for a new quad for my 8 year old daughter and she only weighs about 50lbs. She is small for her age but tough as nails. She has been riding a "Hand-me-down" 1995 80cc, 3sp, Badger for the last year. And she does very well except for down shifting before going up hills. I have read and done some searches on the forum. But I'm still undecided which one to go with. But the main reason for getting a new one is I'm tired of working on the piece of crap Badger. I like the idea of the E-ton 90R with reverse, adjustable shocks, and a back up kick starter. But will it hold up to abuse compared to an LT80? And how are the Arctic Cat 90's, two and four strokes hold up compared to the others.

How about this. State your opinion and rate the following 80-90cc quads. And if I missed a brand name or model please add it. The features I'm looking for is an automatic tranny, electric start and preferably a soft suspension. Thank you in advance for any help and advice.....

Polaris Predator 90
Arctic Cat 90 2stroke
Arctic Cat 90 4stroke
Kasea Skyhawk 90
Eton Viper 90R (has revers)
Eton Viper 90
Xtreme 90
KFX-LT80

My Wife and I went Quad shopping to day, there was even a small local bike show we attended. The only one in the list above we didn't see was the Eton 90R. I thank we have mostly decided on the Arctic Cat 90 four stroke. Or should we get the two stroke? We mostly ride mountainous terrine with lost of rocks, water, and deep ruts. And AC has the biggest tires and the most ground clearance of the little 90cc quads. I did like the cooling snorkel on the Polaris predator, and will be getting one for the AC90. The shocks on the Predator were softer also and would be an easy swap if I cannot lighten up the stock ones on the AC. All in all I have more faith in the Kent, Wa. dealer I'm buying from and I thank he may be cutting me a little bit of a deal. I purchased a new KFX 400 from him last year, he gave me a really great deal on it, and has been the best quad I have owned. The reason for going with the four stroke is his service guy says they have a little more or better bottom end power.

Looking at the Polaris Predator 90, Arctic Cat 90 2stroke, Kasea Skyhawk 90, and Xtreme 90. They all look like they have the same engine and tranny cases. Even the Arctic Cat 90 4stroke looked similar. But what a Polaris employee said was a lot of them use the same cases but the internal components have differences in quality between brands. And says that's why the cheaper off brands are cheaper. I kind of side with him because I have a 2004 China made Honda 1970s Z50 copy and it just don't look like something Honda would put on the floor.

If you have any comments about the Arctic Cats good or bad please post them soon. I thanking of picking one up in a few days. I "had been" leaning towards a KFX 80 but don't really like the rear suspension being part of the motor and less ground clearance.

If we get an Arctic Cat should we go with the two or four stroke and why?

Thank you.....

I know some of you guys say you like these off brands like Kasea's, Eton's and are happy with them. But I would like to know how many of you go for 20 mile rides every other weekend. Through mountainous terrain and watch your kid beat the little thing down the trail. It take us about 6-8 hours to do 20 miles and the going is slow because of the terrain and inexperienced little riders I have. The last thing I want is to have to pull them all the way back or have constant maintenance or parts availability problems. Don't get me wrong I do maintain my machines and do regular oil changes.

I really appreciate all the comments you guys have posted.
I talked to a dealer today that sells Arctic Cat, Polaris, Kasea, and Suzuki. He Told me that Arctic Cat, Polaris, & Kasea and I think Eton or Xterme, frames, motors swing arms, A arms, and axles. Basically a rolling chassis with the motor, tranny minus the tires plastic & seat. Are all manufactured by a company called FMC. If this is the case then I thank it is really cool having all these different makes supporting the same chassis and motor.

I know some of you said that they come from the same manufacture. And it is down right tuff when you get so may different versions of the truth. But I'm trying to do my homework before making this purchase. We are getting low on cash and want to make the best long term investment.

I figure "if" Kasea is the same as Polaris & Arctic Cat. Then I'll save my self about $800 and get a Kasea. I'm just very Leary of small companies and having a hard time getting parts, or falling a part. I have a ATK 605 and some times parts can take up to 6 months to get!!!! And dealers are like restaurant help, here today gone tomorrow.

Does anyone have any info supporting these models coming out of FMC or the same manufacture?

Does anyone have info about FMC building ATV parts?

Hello Again.

I ordered a Kasea 90 from a Dealer Friend of 14 years. I'm getting it for $1850 out the door with an after market chain upgrade. I figured I'm saving about $1000 over getting the Arctic Cat or the LT80.

I will be putting the chain tensioner, and cooling snorkel on it from the Predator and probably larger rear tires and sprocket.

I will post the outcome and performance after I get.
