anyone have any experience or knowledge about the pantera 90 that you can buy at pep boys for $899, It seems that at this price how can you go wrong with a quad that has a four speed tranny and with reverse.

A friend of mine bought one last Tuesday, took it home couldn't get it to run and gas was pouring out of the bottom of the carb. He brought it to my house for me to help
him get it running(Pep Boys didn't have any idea what to do other than give him his money back). The carb has a small screw to drain the gas, that was open enough to keep leaking gas when the fuel was turned on. Leak fixed ... onto starting, really not a problem (turn on key, flip switch to run, turn on choke, squeeze right hand brake and push
starter button. Started right up and seems to run fine. Overall quality is definitly not on par with most of the more expensive kids atvs, but not as bad as I expected. I rode
it for about 15 min and was actually suprised at how well it pulled me around(almost 200lbs)... shifted fine forward and reverse. It doesn't have the suspension or the power
of the E-ton or Arctic cat 2strokes, and you definitly won't get much support from Pep Boys.
I cant say that I recomend the Pantera, but it probably would be ok for a starter quad considering the cost.
I have also seen a similar product from Kazuma (110cc) but it has been nothing but problems.

I aggree with the surprise of the amount of power from the pantera 90 from Pepboys. I bought two of the 49cc dirtbikes and one 90cc quad. For a total of $1700 and my boys ride them like crazy!
Yes I too had problems with my fuel line routed incorrectly-but once I fixed them it starts every time on a dime. For starter equipment you will not find a better price!And for that reason there definatly good buys. But don't wait long, because pepboys are selling these thing like crazy and they just raised the price of the 50cc dirtbikes from $399 to $499. I got a feeling everything is going up!
