Selling one pipe that won't work and buying another that may or may not surely isn't the answer.
The best pipe for a LT80 bar non is the stock pipe. If it was cromed and had a aftermarket name on it, it'd out sell all the others. It will allow 9800+ rpm's. To call the others High rpm or high air flow can be mis-leading IMO.
Ppl's pipes are made for ppl's porting. And not all will work with others porting.
Example: I tuned in one of the mentioned pipes to my porting. The clutch's had to be made different along with the jetting. It was recommended to run a 110 jet. It fell on it's face. It finally turned on with a 72.5 jet. I contend that my superior exhaust scavenge made the difference. After all that work, the decision was made to put the stock one back on and go fast.
"Some" depend on the pipe for performance. I depend on the motor for performance!

I've heard the FMF pipes are great for low to mid range RPMs. Great for trail riders who are looking for that "extra boost" between jumps - at a more affordable price. If you are planning on racing, I would assume you'll be installing lots of high RPM performance parts. If you do, the FMF pipe will probably be a high RPM air-flow bottle neck. The high RPM pipes from WRH Racking, Hetricks, Tomco, etc. are specifally tuned for high RPM / high air-flow engines. In the long run, you'd probably want to sell your FMF pipe. If you FMF pipe is still in plastic, don't break its seal. You'll get more selling dollars for it. If I was standing in your shoes, I'd sell it and purchase a racing pipe that is tuned with your future "high RPM" parts.
Hope this helps...

LT80,
Thanks for further explaining optiminal racing pipes for the LT-80. And you are right, it all depends the unique factory design of each engine, and other mods that may have been added.

I've been hearing how the FMF works well with stock motors but not with modded ones. Well our lt80 is stock now but planning on mods in the near future. I have a FMF system which will be here this week. Should I go ahead and install it or sell it and order one from Hetrick racing?

Thanks again Lt80!
