Does anyone know of any tracks that have ATV racing in MD or VA? My son has asked about racing and I would love to take him to a track so we can watch a race, look more into getting involved with the sport. My son is 7 and will be turning 8 in May.

I have not heard anything about the MX track in Mt. Airy. Do you know where it's going to be or any other details?

That would be great news.

The Landing MX is very nice, but the traffic in the summer is horrible. Mt. Airy consist of 3 counties; Montgomery, Carroll, and Frederick. I live in Carroll and have heard nothing about this track. I will call the commissoners on Thursday and see if they know anything about it. As far as riding areas, I don't know of any public areas. I wish I did.

RoadDoc I have been looking into Tower City myself. I was thinking of going up next weekend. I don't own a quad for myself yet, but I have heard there are some good areas for kids. Do you have a quad?

I just got my daughter a Predator and am interested in any motorcross/TT tracks in Maryland. There doesn't seem to be much and around here other than Budds Creek. Maybe we could share information on riding spots etc. Would like to get together with others with children who ride, my daughter is 8.

Has anybody been up to Tower City to ride? Is it rider friendly for an eight y/o child?

RiverHill I have been looking into Tower City and have heard nothing but good things about the place. I haven't been able to obtain much information on the quality of the trails for kids but I know they have kids sections. I purchased a Honda Rincon in March of 03 and have been hooked on quads ever since. I don't think I will be able to make it up there to check it out until the end of the month. Let me know how you like it if you make it up there next weekend.
