Some say they feel a difference with new reed.
IMO, the main reason to replace the reed is that the stock reed cracks and usually causes damage to the piston.

I put a set in ours last week, and I believe it helped it rev alittle quicker. Other than that, I can't tell much difference. There is a shop near me that I order all my parts through, and they can order from alot of different places. I believe my reeds came from Parts Unlimited. You can also buy them straight from Boyesen. (I paid $17.00 with tax) Most places near me don't stock any parts for the LT's, so ordering them is the olny way to go.

Why is the only place I find Boyesen reeds for the lt80 is on ebay? I go to my dealer and it shows nothing. And is it worth changing reeds with a stock engine?

But is there a noticeable difference between the stockers and a set of Boyesen with a stock engine?

I replaced my daughters because the stock stainless ones were still in it... now I will also have to do rings because of the low compression.

Carbon Tech and TDR make a one pedal carbon fibre replacement reed that works well as a bolt-in and if you take a few minutes and cut the bridge out of the block before installing bthe new reeds there is a noticable improvement in top end as well.
