I removed the fan cover and pull start cover on the '93 LT80 project. Both areas were full of stored, dried dog food!! I'm convinced a mouse or rat packed it away and stored it there and maybe lived inside the belt area. Luckily, haven't seen any chewed wires or other chewed up stuff.
This had been left out in a guys garage, who knows for how long. Gas stinks like plasic, the gas cap is rotten inside and tank full of crud (lots of flaked off rust from gas cap). Carb was green and gummy. I squirted penetrating fluid in the cylinder. Was a little tough to turn the fan, but the piston seems to turn good now. Once I get the starter brush set from Suzuki, I can't wait to see if this thing runs, and how much more I'll have to spend to get it running! Need rear tires soon, gas cap, fuel filter, petcock(or 1/4 valve), front brake equalizer, starter brush set,rear plastic and hopefully that's it. For around $750(US) this could be like new. Might even add headlight, horn and pull start!
