The dealer is "supposed" to remove them.
But, just in case::
There may be a brass ring above the slide in the carb that limits the travel of the slide
There may be a restrictor between the pipe and the cylinder. It'll look like a washer.

JUST GOT 2 LT80'S FOR MY NIECES BOTH RESTRICTER WERE STILL IN. ME AND MY BROTHER GOT PASSED BY MY 1 YR OLD DUGHTER ON HER ELECTRIC QUAD. TOOK ME 5 MINUTES TO PULL OUT THE EXHAUST RESTICTER. STILL WAY SLOWER THAN MY 50 BUT JUST RIGHT FOR 2 GIRLS LEARNING TO RIDE. I WILL MAKE THEM FASTER AS THEY LEARN BUT NOT TILL I SAY THEY ARE READY.

That funny Bill. When I bought mine they had removed both of them. I also know a couple other guys that bought new ones and went to take out the restrictors, but they were already gone also.

the dealers out here will not remove the restrictors at all. I can show them on the parts fische what to remove, but service will not do it. Its like talking about kids under 6 riding ATV's. Just can't do it. It carries a very heafty fine. Possible loss of the right to sell ATV's as well.

Ya that's what I thought the dealer would remove the restrictors when you purchase, but NO it's not when the salesman was rolling the "lil" Kfx 80 off the show room floor I had told him to have the service guys remove both restrictors and just use the throttle screw for restricting, he say's it's a liability that if they remove and child gets hurt, then you sue them,it's happened. My son is 8 yrs. old and I couldn't buy the quad with him with me, because child has to be 12 yrs. old or over. Dealers are pretty strict on safety
