We have had great luck with our new E-ton as well.I had actually ordered a 03 Troy Lee edition Polaris Predator before I saw the Viper.I weighed the pro's and cons of each bike as well as the dealers selling them and decided on the Viper. Our cousin has an 02 Polaris Scrambler X and it has had a few problems.Battery not charging, hard to start when hot,the tie rods seem to bend easily. Also the chain seems to need constant attention or it bangs annoyingly on the chain guard. It also seems to burn twice as much fuel and oil as our Viper.I'm not slamming Polaris by any means.I think the Predator is a good bike from what I have seen and is much improved over the scrambler.Things I liked about the Viper were the powerful rear hydraulic disk brake. The heavy duty 520 chain and sprockets. It has good rear suspension although the front is just average. The bike comes with good quality tires, full floorboards LED running light as well as headlights and tailights and brake lights. It also has a very loud little horn. The bike has been so reliable it still has the original spark plug in it.We have raced it and put many trail miles on it and my son loves it.I love the style of it as well(although this is a personal preference).

Also, if you're looking to get more top end out of it, you can cut the green wire (rev limiter) that's on the outside of the box that's located directly below the handlebars, behind the plastics. It's about a 2 1/2 X 3 X 1 box. If you're on the machine, looking down, it should be on the left side. It made a noticeable difference on the top end, & still doesn't even come close to over revving at full throttle.
Most of the guys that specialize in mini atvs sell anything you want for the Viper including pipes and lots of other go fast parts.

both are good quads. We got the pred 90 for our 7 year old...so my vote would go for the pred. Great suspension, wider is a plus, looks can not be beat. He fits on it great with some growing room. We have not done the trail's yet, still letting him play around in the open field. I took it for a good beat on a very rocky trail and I must say the ground clearance is great and I weigh about 115 maybe alittle more. All around it was the best choice for us. It will mod up just as much as all the other if you need it later on. Full floor boards are a must in my opinion, elec. start back-up kick. GREAT MACHINE!!!!
Keep'em safe with all the right gear.

I'm seriously considering the purchase of an E-Ton 90 for my 7 yr old. Looking at the engine, side-by-side, to a Polaris 90, I cannot see any difference, but about $500, Color, and different suspension between the two. The dealer said that it has coincidentally had less problems than the Polaris. Any comments, experience, or suggestions?
Thanks.

Thanks for all your responses. Looks like I'm putting money on an E-Ton one today to hold for Christmas.
Happy & Safe Riding to all,

Ya, I'm sure he'll be happy. Talk about spoiled...everything I would have wanted when I was his age. I remember walking to the Yamaha shop 3-4 times a week all summer when I maybe 8 or 9, just dreaming of what-if's. I suppose thats why this guy is getting this. I think I'm more excited than he is.
Thanks again.

I shopped until I was blue in the face! I looked at everything available on the market & went with the Eton Viper 90 for my son. He loves it! It's actually only an 82cc machine. We've had it out in the California hard pack desert, as well as out in the dunes at Glamis. It works great everywere so far. The only thing I've needed to do, it to adjust the chain tension after the first couple of outings. It started glanging against the chain guard & I though it was about to self destruct. Luckily (& Happily) I was wrong. We put paddles on it for the dunes & that made it great! It actually did very well last year without them. Next, I'm putting a pipe on it to give it that little extra "oomph" it needs to get the sand paddles spinning. My neighbor & buddy put pipes on both of his kids Suzuki LT 80's & they now leave my son in the dust off the line! (although thier suspension & brakes don't even come close.) Can't have that now, can we?! LOL! Pipes for the Viper 90 are VERY hard to find. Southland Suzuki, in Garden Grove, Ca. sells them. They might be able to refer you to a more local dealer.
