Just to throw this in, but the LT80 is a time proven "German Tank". They run for years and never give problems. I dont consider there to be any better than them. Just my .02

To add to Fastfreddy's reply, my neighbor is a mini dealer. They have to replace nick-nack items on the wheelers all the time, and they have had to go into several transmissions to replace broken gears and busted cases. Most of these people werent racing them. You definitely get good quality with the major companies.

LT-80 or honda 90 the rest will be gone in 3 or 4 years well you could do one of the yamahas, the others are fun but wait till they break

Who makes the best mini for the price?
Thanks.

Well, it will be a play bike and for trail riding. I have two kids 7 and 9 average height and weight. I was looking at the MZ 100. I know about the CPSC limits, but that is what parents and throttle stops are for.

Sorry, it was an Xtreme 90 and an Xtreme 100. Are these any good. I can get the 90 for $1700. + tax, no freight or set up. Is that a good price. They look pretty sturdy. The dealer said they would throw in the bulbs for the headlights also. Wow, free .20 cent bulbs.

Bubba, do you like the older Nighthawk S bikes?

I am now throwing around the idea of a two seat offroad go-kart. Thanks for all of your input. I already have two ATC 70's so I'll just keep those old gems running, probably be cheaper in the long run.

I have never heard of the mz100. I have a lt80 and honda 90, a little higher priced than the other brands, but you get what you pay for. Also just about very major company has parts for lt's and honda's.

Hands down the best on the market in all aspects. Bombardier DS 90. Just ask all the other Brands and thier Riders who chased Ryan( 9yrs) around the track this season!!!

( shaking head to himself and mumbling)..." I knew I should have given more detail!!!" Oh! Well! 700!? If your children are planning to just toddle around the yard or bramble thru the bushes then by all means the Viper is the bike for you! HEAVY square tube swing arm, HEAVY chain and 9 pounds of Hydralic rear brake assembly will take all the punishment of that type of riding. Good luck of course finding performance parts for the thing. I think T Rex Tommy carries some stuff! I think!! Kasea!?! Same sinking boat! Polaris!?! With about a 2000.00 extra investment can be made to run really good! Now! The BOMBARDIER!!!!! With no more than about 700.00 more in simple performance tricks, ( jetting, modifying air box, sprocket changes, wheel spacers,tires...16/8.5x8 and a few other simple tricks,.." and I'm not telling those.LOL!" The DS 90 will hands down run off and leave the others!!! Even laps VIPERS!!!! Oh! Yea! The Bom comes factory with the BEST exhaust system of all the mini's. And it comes factory with an unrestricted CDI unit!!! psst! And 700!?! It's canadian not asian like the others which means allen head fasteners, not phillips head machine screws. And yes! Even I wasn't happy with the front shocks so I replaced them with a better quality shock. But even still, you have to consider that even with all that I have done to Ryans quad by ATVA rules it is still BONE STOCK!! But seriously, remember, this quad is for them. Let them choose with you and you will come out a winner no matter what you buy!

Hi there, we purhased an ETON -Viper 90cc earlier this fall and after looking around for a while found little else that could compare given its disc brake, head/tail/brake lights(which you need if you plan to ride on crown land). The mtce is srtaight forward and this chat line has been quite helpful. My son is 7 quite tall and weighs about 75lbs and is about at the intermediate level in 2months. I would recommend it over the others for cost, mtce, and looks. If you are not aware Eton and Polaris use the same motor and it is very reliable. It is not bad in the snow either.

Boy you are opening a real can of worms as this subject has been hashed about several times. What is your intended use of the mini.Is it just for trail riding, play bike or will you maybe race it sometimes or maybe get into some serious racing? Also how big of a child will be riding it(height and weight)? Before the "Kasea is best" crew gets here I will give my 2 cents and say there isn't a best mini atv. There are best mini atvs for your application whatever that is.

What is an MZ 100?.Never heard of it.Any links to a website or anything? We have an 04 E-ton Viper and it has been a great bike so far.I think most of these Asian mini's are pretty good.Polaris has about the best stock suspension that I know of.I have no experience with the Kasea but they are highly recommended on most mini sites. The Honda's and suzuki's are very reliable but getting a little dated.

We bought an 04 E-ton Viper this summer as well.My son who is 5 raced it and we did lots of trail riding with it as well.It has a good rear suspension and the front is about par with most of the rest.It has an excellent rear hydraulic disc brake and a heavier 520 chain that doesn't need adjusted as often as a lot of the others with the 428 chain. The lights and horn are a neat bonus as well.I haven't had much experience with the other bikes but I would defintely recommend the e-ton.Ours was not cheap however but we didn't get a great deal from the dealer either. We probably paid a couple of hundred more than we should have.Over all we've been very happy with it though.img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif" border="0">

How I wish this was true.I'm a die hard Ski-Doo fan in the winter so I checked out the DS-90 pretty closely. It has the worst suspension of any of the mini's that I looked at.It doesn't seem to have any outstanding features other than it looks like it actually has a decent quality exhaust pipe that has an expansion chamber the same as the Arctic Cat 90.This may make it fast with all the restrictors removed but it certainly wouldn't make it the best in "all" aspects.

The viper is no good because its got a heavy chain and rear swing arm?The back brake is probably the best of them all.The bike weighs in at 208lbs (the 90cc).Most of the other mini's without the "heavy duty"features weigh in at around 230lbs(the DS is listed at a whopping 240lbs)And guess what? The vipers cdi box is easily changed to unrestricted by snipping one wire.Guys are even swapping them onto other bikes as a hop up..As far as performance parts you can get anything for the viper that you can get for any bike.I have never even seen a DS 90 listed on the performance parts sites although I'm sure some of the parts will fit as most of these bikes are pretty similiar. As for it being Canadian I doubt much of it is actually built here in Canada. All of these mini's are made by a couple of Asian companies and then the companies over here put their stickers on them. For a couple of hundred bucks you could buy an aftermarket pipe for any of those other bikes you mentioned and it would perform much better than the stock DS 90 pipe so don't try and tell me you need to invest $1000s to get the other bikes up to the DS 90s speed.I'm not looking to bash the DS but lets just post realistic facts here.I wish the DS 90 was better than all the other bikes,I was hoping that it was but after checking it out I came away disappointed.Thats not to say its not a good bike but its certainly lacking in a few departments.

Blastermom I missed your post.I have a few local dealers near where I live.Whereabouts are you located?

Posted by: oldyeller

The front end plastic piece shouldn't be too expensive. The led light might be,I really have no idea on that.I would put up your own post, something along the lines of wanting e-ton parts or dealers in your area,or at least in the United States and you should get lots of reply's.I hope your daughter was ok.We had a small 6 year old cousin take off on our bike unexpectedly and ram it into a tree head on.Luckily I had the throttle limiter screw turned in almost all the way and he hit the tree dead on with the front bumper so there was no damage other than the paint getting scuffed up on the bumper. My son was not impressed to say the least.img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-shocked.gif" border="0">

OldYeller,

Notice you have an 04 Eton Viper 90. We recently bought one for our daughter and today she rear ended my quad and and broke the LED and the front end plastic. Any suggestions where I could find replacement plastic for it?

Thanks,

BlasterMom

OldYeller,

Well, I just noticed you are in Ontario. I am in the U.S. Phoenix, AZ. I have no idea of what to expect for price.

I will do my own post. Thanks. My daughter was fine. She was just crying because she thought she would be in trouble.
