i to will be flipping the wheels.iam interested in aftermarket parts.pipe,motor mods,skid plates,bumpers,etc.my son races in the woods.cant seem to find many parts for the eton 50,maybe i should of got the 90?

I also have a 50 viper.I had the same things happen to mine.Plastic in the tank.The
walk behind tether cord was loose once.Also I cut the green wire on the cdi and ...Vroooooommmmmm lol.
One more tip I have done to mine.I fliped the front and rear rims to were the valve stems face to each other.In other words I fliped them around and now the offset is wider to the out side of the quad.It makes the bike about 3 1/2 inches wider and alot more stable.For the fronts you will have to drill a hole for a new valve stem on the other side of the rim and add a new valve stem.Pull the old ones out and flip them upside down so it will cler the brakes.
We have had ours for 6 months so far and its been treating us great.Most of its riding time is spent on mx tracks.

Just pull the original valve stem out with some plyers and put it back in up side down.
Install a new stem in the opisite side.The front makes more diference than the back.
Its well worth it for stability.

That's right all switches and tethers pluged in and on. If that doesn't work change the spark plug.

Some of the plastic you may find could also be from a deteriorating fuel filter, I have seen some other units with the glue coming apart in the fuel filter and heading down to the carb.
Our 2004 Viper 90 did not seem to need the green wire snipped so I didn't even look for it, maybe your 2004 50cc doesn't have one. I'll be taking a closer look soon.

Can't help u with the limiter wire, aws I'm not familiar withthat model but as for not starting, please don't think I'm being arrogant or smartallecky but did you check to make sure the gas is on. Also if it has a kill button,( start/run switch ), on the handlebars make sure it is in the run position. Next there is a relay and fuse iether under the seat or behind the front plastic that just might be bad from the factory! OH! YEA!...if it has a walk behind tether kill switch make sure it is well seated.

actually i have 2 questions...first off, where is there rev limiter wire and what color is it? and 2, i just purchased this atv for my son and he hasnt ridden it but probably 1 hour total, and was riding yesterday and it just quit, and will not start back, just keep cranking, i have checked all connections that i can see and i just wondered if anyone could help....thanks in advance!

yea i did check the gas, even switched it to reserve...all ok there..switch is in the "run" position..havent checked any relays with meter or anything, i will leave that to the dealership i guess....thanks anyway man!

Your limiter is on the throttle box.. It is a small screw with a nut around iton the forward side of the box. If you screw this in, It limits the amount of throttle you can use. You need to keep it in to at least half throttle for About 10 hrs riding time. (factory recommended breakin time) Make sure that the walk behind teather beneath the seat is seated. I know the 50's have them. I don't recall if they have the wrist teather is there. My son has the 90 and it doesn't. I don't think that the 50's have it. The only other option is that the run/stop selector is in the off position.

The limiter is the green wire that you see if you look behind the front screen of the quad. It comes out of a little black box and is approx. 5 inches long and then it goes back into the same box. Just cut it and cover up the ends. My sons quad (the exact same as yous) did the same thing by not running the day after I got it. I remembered seeing someone say that you have to take the gas line off (in front of the fuel petcock) and blow into it. When they make the gas tank, they drill out a hole for the hose and a small piece of plastic sometimes gets clogged up in the line. I did this and have not had a problem ever since.
We have had this quad for 2 months now and absolutely love it. No problems since the first little problem.
And believe me, we ar not the nicest people to it. It ROCKS for a 50cc through the woods.
Cutting the wire helps immensly. Hope this helps.

My daughter has a 2004 Eton Viper 50 and I can't seem to find the green rev limiter wire under the front grill. Only green wire I find is going to the low oil indicator light on the handlebars. Any help would be appreciated.

I took your advice on flipping the wheels! I only did the backs last night, but it makes a big difference. I did
not get around to doing the fronts (more work). How did you cover the old valve stem hole for the fronts?
Just want to make sure I understand before I go drilling them out. Can you expand on this the front wheels?

If he is an aggressive rider than yes you should have gotten the 90. You can find tons of parts for the
Viper either though Peak Powersports (www.dirtrides.com) or WRH Racing (www.wrhracing.com). Peak
is in the process of building out an eton racer so he is adapting most of his Kasea parts for the eton.

the same thing happened to me my 2004 viper 50 ,just got it home ,it ran for about 5 min and it stalled.wouldent start.i took it back to the dealer the next day and they had the carb off and gas line and blew air through it and sprayed it up and it works fine now! e ton should look into this.awsome little bike though,runs fine now.going to cut green wire tomorow.......

Kebo, I had very similar problems with my son's Viper 50. What I found out is that it was a fuel filter problem. I did a very simple test by using the fuel cap ventilation hose to replace the petcock to carb hose assembly. Ran fine. That was when it was brand new (2003). It mysteriously started happening again. This time none of the above worked. I took the carb completely off and apart to inspect and as others stated here, there was either plastic or a gummy material in the float bowl. Once cleaned out and replaced started like a charm.
