in the spring i plan to purchase a new quad (have no idea which one yet, they all look so good). i was just wondering, what time of year is the best to purchase one. when are they the lowest prices, when is the best incentives offered, when are the "trick" financing plans offered? just curious.

Anytime you stumble onto a good deal..is the best time!

If you are looking for used..

Check out the Local Papers for ads!

And if you see a 4-wheeler sitting in the back of a garage..stop and ask if they want to sell it! Lots of deals there!

I would say that right after the first of the year is the best time to buy a used quad. With hunting seasons now over, many owners decide to unload their quad for various reasons. The key is the find those who need to sell the most.

And right before hunting seasons begin (late Summer, early Fall) seems to be the best time to buy new. With so many eager hunters eager to buy a new quad, most of the manufacturers offer special deals and rebates to attract them.

All this seems to point to the late Spring, early Summer as being the worst time to buy a quad of any sort. This could also mean that it is the best time to get your quad serviced since dealer traffic is usually slow.

I agree with drlaney u can get a better deal after hunting season ends.....but most of the used ones will be 4x4 that the hunters are getting ride of....if you want a 4x4 now is the best time

I've found that the best prices for new quads is either at the end of the current year or at the beginning of the new year. I was in the market to buy some quads to rent, and found that our local Kawasaki dealer had new 2000 Bayou 220s for $2,999.00 each, so I bought two.

Also,,, if you looking to buy a used one, check out the Kelly Blue Book listings for Prices at : WWW.KBB.COM

It will give you an idea of going rates. Good luck though.. most I have found are at or above Retail from private parties. I am still looking and not any in rush...(2 or more days and I will rush..lol )

Along come springtime, the Manufacturers discontinue their "Zero Interest Floorplanning Program" to qualified dealerships.

This event means, suddenly, the dealers must now pay interest on the money invested in inventory, the quads on the showroom floor.

Consequently, the smart dealers want to move those quads soon so their profits won't be eaten up by interest payments; also, the dealers want room for forthcoming new models.

While each deal is unique, I believe the economics favor the customer when the zero interest floorplanning programs end.
