Default What Track kit for 08 800 Sportsman?

There are options... I just want to cover my bases before I invest in them.
They will only be used in the winter and right away in the spring. No hard pack riding.
Choices are:
Camoplast Tatou 4s... $3150 delivered
Polaris Prospector Pro's... $3700 out the door
Mattracks... $5500-$7500 depending on style...

I also found a set made by Soucy that have been sitting NEW in this guys warehouse for a Kawasaki 750 for around $1800 cash...

I have been looking at used ones... but you never know if you are getting everything.

There are good deals to be had on used sets out there, I just sold a brand new set of Prospector Pro-S tracks to a guy for $3200 with brackets.

Mattracks are over priced and not a great snow use track. Soucy makes the Prospector tracks, however the gearing and bolt pattern of the brute isn't compatible with the Sportsman.

The Tatou 4s will be a slower track but will throw less snow and will be more optimally geared for your machine. The prospector tracks will give you a better overall top speed and some added ground clearance but from my experiences I think the Tatou 4s is a better all around product.

I am by no means a Track expert but have had some seat time on a few different sets. I currently don't have tracks for my newest machine but will add another set in the future.

Previously owned:
2008 Prospector Pro Tracks (ran on 06-500 and 08-800)
2010 Camoplast Tatou 4s (ran on 09-850 EPS)
2010 Prospector Pro-S Tracks (ran on a pair of 09-850 EPS)

switzomatic has the Prospector Pro S tracks and Mongrol has Tatou...I'm sure they'll be along in a bit to give you some pros and cons...

Had the Tatous since 07 and not a problem with them. Totally satisfied.

One terrific thing with Tatous and Polaris combination is the drive sprocket tooth gearing differential. The rear track drive sprockets have one less tooth than the front. This tricks the Polaris AWD sensor into thinking the rears are spinning, therefore locking the AWD into full time 4wd. Only thing is that you MUST totally stop when you move the yellow AWD engagement switch or damage could occur.

I ride alone high up and in some pretty remote areas so I chose the tracks with the best record and they haven't let me down. (YET)

Oh Ya, top speed is cut 50% and fuel consumption doubles.

Been really satisfied with my popo tracks. Currently running them on my RZR and used them last year on my 09 800. Even with the added weight of the RZR they go great in the snow. Have yet to bury it. Tat's are nice also and I totally agree the mattracks are way overpriced(and heavy). Don't think you will go wrong with either tat's or popo. Decision will depend on how you ride. Save $700 buying the tat's but lose most on your top speed-about 50% compared to losing about 30% with the popos(if that makes any difference to you).

Sorry maybe I wasn't clear. If I buy a set of used sportsman setup tracks do I just need the anti rotational bars to mount them on my 50" rzr? I can't find the information online on my own. Where do you find part breakdowns for a set of Polaris tracks? I'm sure people have to bust them
